I recommend a dishwasher. Either Bosch or an eager law student.

I need to get a coat rack for my apartment. My apartment is about 800 square feet, but the rack does not have to fill the entire apartment. Any thoughts?

Bedpan

I need a nice bedpan. I am too lazy to get out of bed to poop.

Any recommendations?

Does your community have a gazillion Oriental carpet shops about to go out of business in the next 30 days? Some of those old tribal rugs are hugely durable and they sometimes come in odd sizes. My mother has a runner in her kitchen that has had all manner of random food items spilled upon it, and it looks great after 20 or so years and lots of abuse. A smaller rug wouldn't be all that expensive, maybe two or three hundred dollars, if you smile nice and allude to all the other naked floorspace in your house that could, in the future, use coverings.

I'd also check Ikea, as they often have square (or square-ish) rugs.
I'd second Ikea. I have a smaller version of this one that cost about $50. I think it's about 4x4.

Sort of like a low-end pre-makeover Abercrombie & Fitch (though that had clothes for a much more mature crowd).
I misunderstood. I thought she meant BR that existed before there was any such thing as The Gap. The Gap had always been around. But clearly she meant before the merging of the two entities. I am stoopid.

Wow

This woman looks totally pregnant again. If she is, is that some sort of record?

Woman dies of water intoxication after ingesting 2 gallons of water to win a Wii. She ended up settling on a pair of Justin Timberlake tickets and a trip toward the bright light.

Does it have to be a rack? Would hooks work instead?

I got the hooks for my 1,000 square foot house from here, though I guess they don't sell the particular hooks I got anymore.

They actually had this story on Larry King last night, with commentary by Dr. Laura (???). The whole thing reminded me of why I have never watched an entire segment on Larry King. Boring and insipid. Even the winner of the contest, whom they interviewed, was dull as dirt. When asked if she had rethought the wisdom of the contest, she basically said no, too bad that loser girl died, but it was fun.

I had heard she turned down the Timberlake tickets because she really really wanted the Wii. And that if she had taken the Timberlake tickets earlier, she might have lived. And that 9 people were fired from the radio station. Because they're idiots.

eta - apparantly now it's 10 people fired. If you listen to the tapes, which have been on the news constantly around here, the on-air talent was pretty bad.

I'm only surprised that something like this hasn't happened sooner. I figured that there would have been a few deaths on the reality shows by now. I suppose djs are bigger idiots, though.

Read about this in the local SF paper this morning. The paper talked about what assholes the DJs are (correct), and how sad and sorrowful we should all be for the dead contestant (not correct).

I'm sorry, but really -- when you start feeling sick, stop doing what you're doing. And I would guess that most of the contestants, had they just been listening to the show and to the DJs haranguing anyone who felt sick, would have found it hilarious.

Stupid all around, indeed. The only people I feel sorry for are the dead woman's kids.

It's hard to imagine anyone dumber than the contestants on a reality TV show.

It's possible, I suppose -- but hard to imagine.
