A local grocery store has been carrying their version of rice krispie treats (which tastes like every other version but doesn't bear the Kellogg brand name) for a year or so, and every now and then I'll cave and buy one. Makes for not having to keep marshmallows, rice krispies and gobs of butter in the house. I'm sad that the marshmallow shortage hit before the avacado shortage.

I suppose I'm going to have to start keeping rice krispies, marshmallows and gobs of butter in the house now.

I do not generally eat rice krispie treats, but I like them better homemade because I like a higher proportion of marshmallow/butter to the cereal than that which exists in the commercially available versions.

The prefabs are all over the map in terms of pricing and fit and finish, but I think there are some pretty cool ones out there. They're generally more cost effective than building most of the house on site, and they tend to be eco friendly.

You should head over to the National Building Museum and check out the Glidehouse for an idea of what they can do with these prefab houses these days.

I read a story in a local magazine about that LivingHome that is in the prefab link you included. It seemed really cool to me at the time. I'd totally live in one of those. If I could, like, afford the land to put it on out here.

The president of my HOA just got a headache, and he has no idea why.

I actually love my house. I do. I love it. I love my leopard print rugs and my hot pink ottoman. I love my red bedroom walls. I love my glass block shower with no door. I love my bouganvillea.

What I really want is another person living in my house, and he comes with two more dogs in tow, and so a bigger house will be in order.

But I don't think I really want a new house, so much as I want a new joint tenant with rights of survivorship.

I was interested in these...we have some plots of land for sale near us and it seems to be a cost effective way to build...then my father in law was like "no there are all kinds of problems with them, one of which is that some of them are cement structures so that when there is a fire there are major problems" and there are other structural issues. Anything that seems to be too good to be true, usually IS.

It literally made my hands and feet swell (that must be from the salt). The chili cheese dip isn't even made with real cheese. It's Velveeta. It makes me cringe just thinking about it, which is why I need a football game to distract me.

Hmm, I do not know about avocados applied topically. I think they may be drying if you apply them directly to your skin. I am not sure why -- I just think I read that somewhere.
