I would feel bad too, if the same thing happened to me, although I'm not sure why. I think it's probably that he's going to be sharing something with this woman (albeit unwillingly) that the two of you never shared. Even if he had married someone else, she would just be another wife, but this woman is now his baby's mama and will be in his life for the next 18 years at least, whether he takes an active role or just pays child support (I assume she's asking for CS).

at least, that's why I would feel bad. I'm sorry -- you've had enough crap to deal with the past few years, you really don't need anything else making you feel shitty.

Different things make different people feel sick, I guess. I'd rather hear from my ex-* that he has a kid that he didn't want or expect than hear from his creditors that he failed to pay back huge debts he took out during our marriage.

When my ex got married last year and promptly sprouted out a kid, I was shocked at how little I cared and was actually genuinely happy for him. But whenever I had those moments when I felt kind of bad about it, I just remembered about how incredibly great it is not to be married to him anymore. Maybe if you are feeling bad about this turn of events, you could look at that side of it.

In any event, you have been through way too much lately and are way overdue for a break.

I think I am mostly upset because he didn't want this. He wanted to get back together with me, and I said to give it time and maybe, but now there is no fucking way. I am not raising some other woman's child. I had no present plans to ever get back with him, but I think the knowledge that now that option is totally off the table makes me sad.

But yes, glad I am not married to him anymore.
