Me. No one else in my hallway. Just got wind of what my bonus will be: jelly of the month club.

It's a considerate partnership that offers any sort of lube at all.

One of a very few in my hall. But I came in late and will skip out, Thurgreed-fashion, before too long.
And we got marmalade. I hate marmalade.
ETA: Fucking Ollie.

I was promised astroglide.
But I was flipped over and done dry.

You are the picture of a devil-may-care rebel. Your very existence is a continual middle finger waving in the face of a sputtering and comically impotent authority figure. In another century, you would have been a pirate.

Skip as in prance about merrily? Yes, you would have been more of a Gilbert & Sullivan-type pirate.

Straight out of college I almost became a pirate, apprenticed for 2 summers, so I know quite a bit about this.
Pirates are out on the high seas with only the company of other men for months at a time. Every day could be their last. It is only natural that we would take what love we could find during those long journeys, and if it is from your bunkmate, so be it.
The difference in pirate types could be seen when would take over a ship. Beforehand, the manly pirates like me would say we hope there are plenty of comely women on board as we want to get in their skirts. The pirates like Ironhead would agree-
and sure enough- once on board the Ironhead types would try to find the women's trunks so they could try on the various finery.

The wren, the wren, the king of all birds,
On St. Stephen's Day was caught in the furze,
Up with the penny and down with the pan,
Give us a penny to bury the wren.

Ha, an ironic invokation of that classic lilt, but your third line is wrong. It should be:
"So, up with the kettle and down with the pan"
What the hell is wrong with you??!!??
Anyhoo, I have been reminiscing on the season and on this snow filled blustery winter's day I am reminded of a snippet, if you will, of Hank Thoreau's, “A Winter Walk” and thought I would share....
In winter we lead a more inward life. Our hearts are warm and cheery, like cottages under drifts, whose windows and doors are half concealed, but from whose chimneys the smoke cheerfully ascends.... We enjoy now, not an Oriental, but a Boreal leisure, around warm stoves and fireplaces, and watch the shadow of motes in the sunbeams.
Indeed.
peace, good friends, peace.
Penske
