New Years Resolutions

Is there a ritual that goes along with making resolutions? I am making some this year, though they are top secret so I cannot post them here (but think along the lines of no more UF, stop being a homewrecker, no more wanton sex with people more than a decade younger than me, no more open drug use in foreign countries, etc.), and I think I need to perform some sort of ritual to make sure they remain in the forefront of my mind. Perhaps I will tattoo them backwards on my forehead in glow in the dark ink so that I can see them when I look in a mirror in the dark? Thoughts? What is acceptable and expected?

My ritual involves buying a calendar every year and sticking the stuff I'm supposed to do by certain points of the year.
Mine, btw:
1.) Finish the degree that I've been working on for ten years.
2.) Continue diet / exercise / weight loss kick that I've been on until I'm super smoking hot.
3.) Get significant progress on novel and/or screenplay beyond the "I should write a novel about sex toys" phase.
4.) Find some employer who will pay me what I'm worth.
5.) Until 4 is reached, spend less money.

Which is it? I am on the edge of my seat!!!!!
Does anyone else, when making resolutions that go into effect "soon" but not "right now" exactly, feel the urge to overindulge in whatever behavior will soon be verboten?
I am going to have a busy few days coming up here to get all my urges out before the first arrives. Yay 2007!!! I will be perfect in 2007!!!!!

I do not think you can be serious with this one. I can understand "no more wanton UF with strangers" or even "no more UF with the wrong person" but giving up the UF altogether? I'm not sure that is healthy.

We can roll it over to '08 if you'd like. I'm not running Boston in '07, and my Chicago qualy gets me in for both years.

What is it? A chiapet? Just because it has a face doesn't mean it can think.

Excellent point. If I want UC, then yes, of course I will continue with UF. Thank you for being on the ball (no pun intended) as my life planner.

When you were defending Thomas, you forgot to mention that he was sore 'cause he had just thrown the ball away.

I save verboten stuff for Lent. Then, usually I last about ten, fifteen of the 40 days.
The resolutions are usually things I should do more of, not less of.

Are you posting this here because you realized that no one who knows you cares?
Quick follow-up: When you realize that absolutely no one on this board cares, will you be annoying other people (who you have yet to figure out don't care) with this crap?
Final question: Do you actually think anyone is going to ask you what you got? Because no one cares.

I have urges to satisfy before 2007 hits. However, I am not asking you out, I am asking you in. Are you coming?
