I thought I was the sun. So I'm a Blue Sun? Just like "Scarlet Begonias." Fucking awesome.

To make Hank happy, I'll point out that it's a case of intelligent design, not evolution.

It's ok to dig nice shit. I do. We all do. But you shouldn't talk about it like its a goal. It's fine to say what you like, but discussing what you're getting isn't all that interesting. It's like listening to someone talk to you about his or her dream last night.
The other thing is, posting about what someone gave you isn't substantive. "My boss gave me a necklace, and it was made..." isn't saying anything. So what? It's like writing "I bought a minivan last week" or "I bought a refrigerator yesterday." So what? Where's the compelling narrative there? Where's the punchline? It's not even a request for advice.
It's amazing that you miss the thread that holds these boards together time and time again, namely, that the people here are seeking refuge from the vapid world of people around them who think standing in their office doorway and saying "I bought a Jaguar" is a conversation starter. You can have a conversation about buying shit, and liking expensive shit, but it has to have an interesting hook - some funny observation about the item. Dryly discussing exchanges of cash for high end material is nothing but white noise.

I bought a leg lamp for my father for Christmas.
It was a major award.
And fra-gee-lay.

Of course any cleveland fan will stick with Mahorn based upon the whole "Mark Price takes accidental elbow to the head from Mahorn" tihng.

I agree with the Danny Ainge thing. Not only was he dirty, but he was a pussy and a weasel.
Mahorn and Laimbeer were dirty in different ways. They both threw elbows and had their share of cheap shots, but Mahorn was the type of guy to low-bridge you on a drive because he couldn't jump with you or wait until you were most vulnerable to commit a hard foul or box out in such a way that you could tear up a knee. To someone who hasn't played, all they saw were the obvious cheap shots against the guy with the ball. But for people who have played, watching not just the guys with the ball, it was easy to see how dirty he was.
I hope you don't shed any tears for the continuing of Laimbeer's and Mahorn's ( and the Pistons' of the 80s) bad boy image that they so carefully cultivated. Hell, when they couldn't stop Jordan, they just beat the shit out of him.* That wasn't tough defense, it was cheap shot after cheap shot brought on because of frustration. And when Jordan finally got a little help and beat their punk asses, they walked off the floor without shaking the Bulls' hands. That was some cry-baby bullshit.
TM
*And the reason Joe Dumars gets so much respect to this day is because he played Jordan as straight up as he could and didn't resort to the cheap, enforcement fouls everyone else on that team was committing.

I don't recall Laimbeer playing dirty. I think he was one of the most under appreciated players from that era. He was a major cog on a great team. Obviously his reputation cost him in that regard. I really don't remember too many really cheap shots though.
Mahorn is another story. My favorite alltime Piston's play was when he stepped back away from McHale and let him fall on his ass. (McHale was leaning back in the post with his weight resting on Mahorn) McHale looking up from the floor hoping for a foul call was priceless.
But the Mark Price hit (he was going up court, passed Price and threw his shoulder into his head. It knocked Price out for 5 weeks and probably cost Cleveland the title) was just cold blooded and wrong.

For me, that was a moment where you see people you love doing something you know they'll really regret someday. Like when i read SS slave posts.
