Ducks aren't cool as a team name, so they're kind of stuck. (and it's better than the Jason-duck mask).

FWIW, I blame the nouveau marketing geniuses that teams employ and who bring us names like the Blue Jackets and Devil Rays.

(and, BTW, could Utah and New Orleans/Oklahoma City work out a team name swap for their respective NBA franchises?)

You kid, but I have brought up the idea of a table tennis-themed bar on numerous occasions over a few pints on more than one occasion. Some of my other ideas are even worse.

No. There will be no beer pong allowed at Long Duck Dong's House of Pong.

If it makes a difference, the first thing I thought when I saw the photo was "hey, that is the B&N across the street". Looks like the layout of where the film and music sections are located.

WTF is up in Miami?

Possible candidates to replace Saban include Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Ron Rivera, former Green Bay head coach Mike Sherman, San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, Indianapolis assistant head coach Jim Caldwell, Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Norm Chow and Pittsburgh Steelers assistants Russ Grimm and Ken Whisenhut.

Trying to create an anti-dynasty it looks like to me...

The reason we're 6-10

instead of 2-14. Our defensive rookie of the year:
Quote:
NEW YORK - DeMeco Ryans came into the NFL as Houston's second choice to bolster its defense. He leaves his first pro year as The Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year.

The linebacker, chosen at the top of the second round of last April's draft — 32 spots after the Texans made defensive end Mario Williams the first overall selection — was a runaway winner of the award announced Wednesday. Ryans led the league in solo tackles with 126, and his 156 total tackles were 33 more than the next-best rookie, Detroit linebacker Ernie Sims.

In fact, no rookie in the last 20 years had more tackles than Ryans, who was an All-American at Alabama in 2005. And Ryans had more tackles than any of the other five linebackers who won the award this decade, including Brian Urlacher and Shawne Merriman.
I bought one of his jerseys on Sunday. It's the only NFL jersey I've ever owned. There really wasn't a question that he would be defensive rookie of the year, though I'm still a little irriated that he's not going to the Pro Bowl.
