I've had enough Sierra Nevada to fill a canyon. I'm sick of the stuff. I have had cases upon cases of the crap given to me over the years. Its the ultimate default beer for people to bring to parties and get togethers. Its the automatic suggestion of every beer distributer in response ti the question "What kind of high end beer should I bring as a gift?"

Some folks brought Bud cans and Red Stripe to my last party. That was thoughtful.

Someone brought a case of Killian's to the Xmas party over the weekend. That was an attempted poisoning.

The perfect beer gift is the Craft Beers of America 10-pack sold at Cost Plus World Market. It's worth it for the 2 Bells' beers alone.

I bring Pacifica to parties. It's the peoples' beer.

Also, Sam Adams is okay, but I really like the Sam Seasonals.

I drank pumpkin ale this Christmas. Quite tasty.

The cranberry lambic is great. Do they still make that?

Of all the uses for the traditional Festivus pole, I'm a sucker for the classics. Sorry to hear about that.

I don't know what that is. The Seasonals are definitely not fruity.

I mixed it up last night by starting out with light beer during football, then transitioning to red wine (a California Merlot - lots of red wine received as gifts this year), and finishing the evening off with some cold sake. Remarkably, I was not hung over this morning. Have I mentioned my love of the Chaser recently?

How in the hell did that stuff get so damn popular? I had never had it before last year and I hated it. Of course, I drink the chick beer (hefeweisen), so I knew I was going to hate it. But of the beers that I hate, that one's way high up on the list. And yet, it's in every freakin bar around here.

Sierra Nevada is crap. All my neighborhood bars have this on tap:

It is my current favorite. Light and crisp. Especially good change after a black and tan.

Indeed, they do. I believe it's part of the seasonals package. The porter is quite good, too.

It's the Bud Lite of Belgium. Holy shit is it overpriced in the U.S. The Belgians make MUCH better beer than Stella, although it's better than average. Duvel is good stuff.

I can't find Smithwicks in the bottle (or can) anywhere in the U.S.
