Since today's posts are less interesting than my actual job -- a Poll

That is a very difficult question. There are so many things I like to do that if I could turn all of them into a job, it would be ideal. I suppose if I had to narrow it down I would be either a fashion designer or the GM of a hockey team with unlimited budget and nice, no-pay-attention owner - hell, maybe I would just own the team if I had lots and lots of money. Actually, owner would be better - then I would have more time for my hobbies.

My friend was an architect for six years and now she is a medical resident. When people ask her why she changed careers she says that she always wanted to be an architect *and* a doctor. She seems to think it is very natural to not have to pick just one career to have. She's a bit of a brainiac though.

I believe the correct phraseology is:

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

If history is any guide, that's not such a good gig. Look at Tatum, as just one example. And you wouldn't want to be called Yoko.

I'd rather be the top ranked tennis player, sans nutty parents.

I would also like to be that person who reports for lifestyle TV programs who travels around to the best spas and resorts in the world to rate them. Dream job (for a few years).

I was thinking that Bridget Wilson Sampras, former beauty pageant person and actress in a bad French Stewart movie had the life. RIches, mild fame, fabulous house, didnt need to work, nannies, endless shopping, world travel and best seats jn the house for the best tennis events.

If I was guaranteed being a top ranked tennnis player, then I would go withthat if I could be assured I woudlnt look like Jana Novotna and I could end up in a Bridget Wilson scenario. Maybe a steffi graf type situatin. without the german stoicism of course.

A propos of nothing, Subaru's outback will now be a truck, in order to qualify for the less restrictive fuel economy standards.

Linky (NY Times)

Boo, subaru.

Almost everyone they see are happy. funerals a drag? No, the funeral homes come to them, not the bereaved, or they are phone ordered.

Anyway, it seemed such a nice contrast to my job, that morning. I'm sure the $$$ are a little lower.
You BASTARD!! You stole my dream job! (OK, I'll set up shop on the other side of town.)
