Funny annotations to newsworthy pictures to create a narrative is often effective. As here.

Speaking of feeling old, I was especially depressed last year around my birthday, as the "number" was one that sounded old to me (irrational [not the number, my reaction] -- not a milestone number or anything, just one that sounded old.)

Well, as luck would have it, I had miscalculated my age (that's what happens when you get old), and I was actually one year younger than my "old-sounding" age; I had a new lease on life! I had been granted a reprieve!!

However, now it's time to pay the piper. My birthday is fast approaching, and that number is looming. Although, now that I've had a year to get used to it, it doesn't trouble me as it did last time around.

(I told you my minimalist period would be short lived!)

Just close your eyes and think of Bilmore.

That's what they're doing, Thurgreed. They just do it differently from the rest of us. I'm sure it's very hot.

I hate this expression. Nobody's baking anything. When we put the agreement in the oven, then I'll be ok if someone says "baked in". Until then, find something a little less retarded. "Baked in" is the "think outside the box" of July 2004.
Wow. Transactional lawyers have all the fun.

In other news, I just got caught looking at the (very nice) legs of a summer associate coming back from lunch. The good news is she smiled. The better news is that she doesn't work at my firm. The bad news is that I now feel like a schmuck for looking at them for too long (in a lech-like way).

Andy Rooney-type rant

You know what bothers me? Or let me start another way. What do the following have in common?

Chasing Amy
Boxing Helena
Educating Rita
Raising Helen
Judging Amy

I'm sure the list goes on and on, those are just the ones that came to mind with 30 seconds of thought. Can we put a moratorium on naming movies with the ....ing [female name?] form? We get that by doing so you can give your titles some mystery, but STOP IT ALREADY.

Does the proposed moratorium cover porn too, or can the studio go ahead with "Humping Hillary" and "Banging Brittany"?

Either the above or "Just close your eyes and think of Bilmore" would be a fine board motto.

Time Killer

A stage show in LA features adults reading their very real teen age diaries. The clips are very very fun

"Oh yeah, and I tried cocaine for the first time!"

any LA people seen this?

Good point. For clarification, I have a fairly innocuous reason for knowing that she is an SA from Dewey Cheatum & Howe LLP.
