The new MechWarrior game for XBox. No, no, seriously -- sometimes I just need to blow shit up.

Ahem....
Do you mean that you would like to receive them as a gift from me, or that I should include them on my gwiffwiff (is that the name?) wish list?
Because if it's the latter, let me just say, "Don't bother." I've got those bases covered; however, the thought is very much appreciated.

I'm surprised. You're only the 2nd serious runner I "know" who runs with music.

My husband is a serious runner. He runs with his ipod all the time.
As for gwfgwf gifts for me this year, I'll be honest and say that I have no idea what I want. And even if I did, who am I going to ask for them? So I suppose I would like - a big bonus from my employer (not so sure that is going to happen) so I can buy myself some treats.

I am frequently looked down upon. Good music can definitely lift your pace though. I often find myself running faster than I would normally run w/out music.
I don't run w/music when I'm doing a really strenuous training run though.
Also, most somewhat serious to serious runners run with another person or persons. I don't. I've tried, but groups I know of meet too early after work for me to get there in time.

New pair of black knee-high boots. Probably mid-heel.
A really stylishly designed black leather tote-ish bag (very slick & modern, not slouchy, big enough to hold my laptop & everything currently in my purse).
A facial & a massage (a scheduled appointment, not just a gift card, 'cause I'll never get around to scheduling it myself - and if this is from the Mr. I want the appointment for both of us). Possible alternative - an appointment with a really good stylist/colorist to redo my hair.
New socks, soft fabric (laundry-safe) in solid colors, because I've got holes in all of mine except for the rEdiculous "holiday" socks my mother keeps sending.
The courage to clean some stuff out of the closets/cabinets that I hold on to only because it was a "wedding thing." Yeah, I know, more of a new-year's resolution.
A few Henkels knives to fill in the holes in my collection (serated utility knife, small chef's knife, bread knife, in that order of priority). Come to think of it, a few odd plates & saucers to fill in my china collection to an even 6 place settings would be nice, too.

I'm not a serious runner, but I think I'd like to run with music -- it would make the time go by less obviously, I think. But I don't know, as I don't run with music.
And speaking of exercise, I did a session with my trainer (OK, spit it out -- just make fun of me and get it over with...) on Thursday, and my stomach STILL hurts from all the sit-ups and other stomach stuff I did. It especially hurts right between my ribs where the two sets start to separate (in the middle of my chest) and make space for internal organs. What is that called? Upper abs? (I know that's not the technical name, but my anatomy reference library is on loan at the moment.)
WTF? Why would they still hurt four days later?

I want a carpenter for a day, so I can properly fix the pocket door between my bedroom and bathroom, fix the moulding around that door, install a French door between my bedroom and my kitchen, and fit my washer/dryer properly into the space it is in under my countertop.
I want a flat panel wide screen television in the 30 inch range. I want a piece of furniture for the components to my television to be placed on.
I want a new limestone 1 foot tall retaining wall around my front yard. I want someone to install my drip irrigation system.
ETA: PM me for the address I use for my amazon.com wish list for the books I want.

This is likely a tear or bruise in the intercostal tissue which connects the ribs. I have had them before and they hurt like hell, but there's no real concern about permanent damage. If the pain isn't going down in a few days and mostly gone within a week, it might be an actual rib injury. A note: one of acetaminophen or ibuprofen doesn't work well for these sorts of injuries, since they're tissue inflamations. I can't remember which, but I think it's ibuprofen that doesn't work. Since ibuprofen is my general purpose painkiller, I think I remember that I was really in pain until I took a couple of acetaminophen, and then it wasn't too bad until it went away entirely.

I work out 3-5 times a week with my ipod in the gym. It has never let me down.
My brother is a runner and he does NOT run with his iPod. He says that he's heard the pounding isn't good for the hard drive.
