I love breakfast. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. However, I have not been out to breakfast in several months. Perhaps that is the source of recent bitterness. I like it alone, I like it with people I like, I don't like it with people I don't like, I don't like it with people who have a strict rule against reading the paper (or anything else, for that matter) at the table. I HATE IT when it is a business meeting because you can't enjoy it at all, and I feel compelled to get the fruit and bullshit carry-able food even though I'm at a RESTAURANT where I could get pancakes and waffles and french toast and egg scrambles and stuff.

I think you are begining to abuse the "apropos of nothing" phrase. There is an ongoing thread about the Basedow picture. The first part of your post talks about the picture. Then, as a segue to to the second part of your post, where you also talk about the picture, you say "apropos of nothing." But the second part of your posts is apropos of something. It is apropos of the conversation you were having just a cyber-centimeter or two above where you say "apropos of nothing."
