Don't bother. I spent about four hours in the airport there and I can confirm that the city sucks. It's full of people dragging around wheely suitcases, the food is for shit and the beers are outrageously expensive.

Let us know when you're coming. We'll borrow Chris Rock's accountants and organize a welcome party.

Told you not to fly to Long Beach, dumbass. How do you think Jet Blue makes its profits? From the fares?

You are obviously a well-travelled gourmand. You must know Justin's on Lark Street, no? Then again, the town has never been the same since they closed the Half-Moon Cafe. We will never have a tofu-burger like that again on this earth.

This is the problem of many sunbelt cities, including Phoenix, and Vegas and the affluent parts of the Southland. Its like the catalog culture decided to build cities based on the same stores everywhere, and ultra convenience. The restaurants are quasi chain- like Emeril Lagassie's eight Take It UP a Notch Bistro and the people who enjoy this kind of thing probably rate themselves based on what brand names they purchase. They are the fake tits of the urban landscape.

the Mallification has happened everywhere. tourists to every city, even his nirvana of substance, NY, are hit with theme restaurants as where they should go. are there great restaurants in NY even though Bubba Gump's is pulling in the masses? of course.
Do you want to bet there might be something more going on in Phoenix, and maybe C. just hit the wrong places?

Did you eat at the fancy restaurant by all the neon stuff? Because I hear that is the ultimate LA experience. Fuck Rodeo Drive.

When I saw her dress last night, it didn't do much for me. The I saw Fringey's picture, and it looked gooooood, so maybe it's a look that needs movement and light.

So much for your "nice guy from Mayberry" schtick.
Well, I suppose this is what makes the world go 'round. As for me, count me among those who likes to have something to hold on to, so to speak.

Of course I know Justin's. Right by Lark Street Tavern. Underage drinkers all across the Tri City Area are aware of these fine establishments.

As someone who generally fucks people with short hair, I have to say you can get a pretty good grip even on fairly short hair -- say, an inch long minimum.
Unless you have really short arms?

I think the measure is just how predominate strip mall dining and housing community complexes are in the overall scheme of things. I have been to Phoenix seval times and I seem to recall faux red brick bungalow style builings housing such institutions as Taco Bell and Sunglasses Hut. That said, if you drive out about twenty miles, you are in eithe rmuch cooler Scottsdale with front lawns full of cactii which is kinda cool or in some "resort/retirement community" with a teepee theme.
But this isnt too say Arizona totally sucks. Prescott is a nifty little town and Flagstaff is very nice indeed. its just the post Pynchonian urbanites that ruin everything with their aesthetics of derivation. Theya re the NFH of urban planning.
