Is this a reference to being on the bus or off the bus? If so, you sound like my dad ordering a Negro Modelo.

Last night I was playing 9-18 at Commerce Casino. I was up a rack or so ($300) playing super-tight aggressive for a few hours, when the following happened.
I limp in with A-4 suited (bad, I know, but I'd been getting no cards; I got 3 pocket pairs, all lower than 8-8, in 5 hours). Pot is raised by Mr. super aggressive who was up a few racks. Lots of limpers, I call.
FLop comes Q-6-4, rainbow. Checked to the raiser, he bets, I call. Down to 3 players. Turn comes a 6. Checked to the raiser. He bets. I check-raise. He calls. Other guy folds
River comes a 10. I bet, he calls. With pocket 5s.
Three hands later, I pick up A-K under the gun. Aggressive guy raises. I three-bet, and somebody else caps it. Flop comes K-J-6, again rainbow. I bet, aggressive raises. I three bet, he caps. Four players in the hand.
Turn comes a 2. I check to Mr. Aggressive. He bets, I call, as does everyone else. Huge pot now.
River comes a Q. Check, Aggressive bets, I call. He shows A-10.
Boom, there goes my $300 in profit in two hands. We both left the table soon after, in very different frames of mind.

In low-limit, you should only be staying in hands you are reasonably certain you are going to win, and you should be betting them hard. 9-18 should yield pots in the $3-$500 range, and it's to the level where most players will only keep calling the bets of others on the turn and the river when they have good hands. On the last hand, you three-bet before the flop, then check the turn AND the river, only to call him. That telegraphs weakness to me. Big time. And a pair of kings, even with an ace kicker, sucks in a ten-handed game. Especially, with three inside to the straight sitting on the board.
I would say that you can play higher limit if you can afford it, because it gives you a chance to actually use betting to push people around a little when you are in good position, but I think that you need to practice more. Especially practice reading people more and understanding what they are doing and what they might have. You should not move beyond $3-$6 until you play all the time there, are comfortable, and will generally be winning most of the pots you are staying in until the end on.

That said, the second movie has the story. Questions answered, plot filled in and the best fight ever between two blondes.

I put off seeing vol. 1 until vol. 2 was out, then saw them both on consecutive days. Highly recommend.
Wasn't it Kill Bill vol. 1. that had the (boom) anime? That chapter was incredible. So was the fight with the Japanese hottie.
I think QT believes is that what really matters in film is having as many brilliant moments, whether it's a line of dialogue or a monologue (the Like a Virgin speech and the Tim Roth bathroom/drug story in Reservoir Dogs), or a cool look of a shot or scene (John Travolta and Uma dancing in a 50s diner), or a great prop or costume (the suits in Reservoir Dogs, the Pussy Wagon, the Gimp). He gives you shit that you remember for years and years and years after.
Using this as the criteria, Kill Bill doesn't really measure up to Reservoir Dogs or Pupl Fiction. I liked the assassins having snake names. I loved the anime. I thought the kung-fu-master section was great. I remember the "Woo Hoo" song by the 5 6 7 8s during the fight scene with the Crazy 88s. The manner in which the final fight is decided is very very cool. But I don't think it quite lives up to the standard. Cooler and many times better than Jackie Brown though.

For the awards day- how are the nominations going to come in? Can lay people suggest worthy posts?

You're on crack. He had a gut shot with 4 outs until the river.
And to answer mmmmmms query, the reason I check-called the turn was I thought there was a fair chance he had 2 pair (specifically KJ). The reason I check-called the river was a now even greater concern about 2 pair or a straight.

I read it. It's good, but could have been shorter. Kind of like "Progress Paradox" by Gregg (Tuesday Morning Quarterback) Easterbrook

Though I disagree with your analysis of the hand (why would AK be a bad hand w/ a board of K-J-6-2 rainbow in a capped pot, particuarly up against someone who's been successfully pushing people around with nothing all night), you're right about reading people; I'm generally pretty good for this level, but this particular guy must have been better.
The $3-$6 game at Commerce is basically like playing slots. There is absolutely no way to read anyone for having anything, most pots are 8 or 9 way to the turn. The $9-$18 game is good and a consistent money maker for me. (average over $50/hour in profit, though I can't go very often). The next limit game is $20-$40 at Commerce, which scares me a bit.
Thanks for the advice, I'll give it some thought.
ETA 9-18 pots are usually about $110-$150 (6-8 big bets)

I don't really think any comment is necessary:
MIXED-AGE GROPE
ACTION hero Bruce Willis (above) got some action of a different kind after the screening of his new blood-and-guts flick, "Hostage." At an after-after-party at the Peninsula Hotel early yesterday, Willis, who turns 50 this month, and teen queen Lindsay Lohan, 18, enjoyed a mutual gropefest. "At one point, Bruce had Lindsay's pants down far enough to reveal a tattoo that said 'La Bella Vista' (The Beautiful View) on her right cheek," says our spywitness. Eventually, Willis and a few friends, including Lohan, took the party upstairs to his suite.

Yeah, but YOU DIDN'T KNOW THAT UNTIL THE HAND WAS OVER. The fact remains, you played a pair of kings with a high kicker. That's not a strong hand, bud. It's just not.

Stop trying to carve yourself out. It's a little unseemly for someone with more than 65,000 posts.*
*WTF? Is that right? How can you have 65,000 posts?

Check-call is for when you have a monster and want to keep someone betting.
Check-fold is when you are trying to get a free ride to the river on a weak hand and you don't think your opponent is going to raise. If he does, you fold.

9/18 or 20/40 scares the crap out of me. I'd rather just play no-limit online with $50 at a table with $0.50/$1.00 blinds. I usually play a couple cycles, and leave if I lose the fiddy. Lately, been winning $50 a session, sometimes much more. But I'm small time.
