Title of the Blog - "The masses of humanity will always have to suffer" - rawks purely for the Bad Religion reference:
The businessman whose master plan controls the world each day
Is blind to indications of his species' slow decay.
Can't you see his life is just like yours?
An unturned stone,
An undiscovered door,
leading to the gift of hope renewed, eternity for you.
The masses of humanity have always had to suffer.

How have we not discussed this?
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nominations are out.
http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/Musi....ap/index.html
"Heartland rocker John Mellencamp is among the nominees for a new class of inductees at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, joined by jazz legend Miles Davis, rap pioneers Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five and Blondie....
Cat Stevens, who had folk hits in the 1970s before converting to Islam and largely retiring from music, was also nominated, along with punk rock pioneers The Patti Smith Group, the Sex Pistols and the Stooges.
"Free Bird" singers Lynyrd Skynyrd, heavy metal band Black Sabbath, the '60s beat group Dave Clark Five, Boston-area blues-rockers J. Geils Band, dance masters Chic and Texans Joe Tex, and the Sir Douglas Quintet were also on the ballot."
I say yes to Grandmaster Flash, Blondie, and the Sex Pistols.
Cat Stevens? Cat fucking Stevens?

To remain viable, doesn' the RRHOF have to stop adding so many bands each year? They're fast running out, and it's not like there are new great bands to take their place.

Your apparent ignorance of the impact of Black Sabbath on a whole generation and genre per se renders your opinion irrelevant and uninformed. Even VH1 recognizes them in its stupid-ass Top 100 Hard Rock/Metal/Punk bands of all time - listing them #2 behind only Zep.

Go to a spa place where they put you in a comfortable reclining ergonomic chair and give you an eye mask for the pedicure. That way, you don't have to look at your wax-enclosed foot and contemplate that it will look exactly that way if you are embalmed after death.

For the $10 I go for the paraffin every time. Life is too short to do otherwise.

And no to the Stooges and Patti Smith? Huh.
And the fact that Black Sabbath is not in the HOF already is a travesty, based upon their influence alone.

Yes to the Stooges, possibly Patti Smith. Lynyrd Skynyrd gets in for Freebird and a plane crash. Black Sabbath is in because they want Ozzy there for the induction ceremony.
Miles Davis in the RnR HoF? How expansive of the genre are they going to be? Will the fine banjo work of Earl Scruggs get him in the Hall, too?

I'm assuming the expansive genre reference is a nod to me. In my little world it is, at least. !!!

OK, your opinion is not uninformed, it is irrelevant and irrational.
By your logic, Elvis might not be in the RRHOF. Why discuss something like this with you? I would rather debate politics with a child, or animal rights issues with Paigow.
