At a time when I can cherry pick songs on iTunes, there are absolutely no groups that fall into this category.

Poll: For which artists/bands will you buy their next album they put out, unquestionably, without reservation, without reading a review, or hearing any of the songs, or knowing the title. Please do not include bands that are not reasonably likely to release any more new albums -- yes I would buy a new Beatles album, but there's not going to be one.

For me, it's
AC Newman, Arcade Fire, Belle & Sebastian, Bravery, Bright Eyes, Da Band (ahhh, I wish), Damien Rice, The Darkness (though I haven't gotten around to it yet), The Dears, Dizzie Rascal, Feist, Fiery Furnaces, Flaming Lips, Franz Ferdinand, The Game, Godspeed You Black Emperor, Green Day, Greenhornesm, GNR (I guess . . .??), The Hives, Immaculate Machine (Katherine Calder's band -- New Pornographers family), Inara George, Interpol, Jack White, Jay-Z, Kaiser Chiefs, Killers, Lowest of the Low (again, I wish), Ludacris, M.I.A., Mack 10/Westside Connection, Maximo Park, Moby, Morrissey, New Pornographers, Radiohead, Rilo Kiley, The Shins, Sigur Ros (though, once again, I haven't got around to it yet), Snow Patrol, Stars, The Streets, The Strokes, Tegan & Sara, Tenacious D, Transplants, White Stripes, Wilco, Yeah Yeah Yeahs

The saddest thing for me about making this list is that for a very long time, this list was one band, the Tragically Hip, and now they don't come close to making this list.

So, who ya got?
Wilco, Arcade Fire, R.E.M. (the last album notwithstanding), Bruce Springsteen, the Flaming Lips, the Shins, the White Stripes, the New Pornographers, Neko Case, Beastie Boys, Drive By Truckers, Garbage, Godsmack, Los Lobos, Modest Mouse, Pixies, Postal Service, Radiohead and probably some more that I'm not remembering.

The hash... its good. But its made me a smilin fool. I felt like a dim child last night, giggling like an imbecile while rewatching Colbert Reports and A.Developments on my couch, nursing a bottle of Grand Marnier 100 yr recipe (good shit... in laws brought it back from the islands for me... Can’t find it in Pa).

Has it come to this? Life in a snifter, sucking black tar smoke through a Red Bull can in my backyard, checking to make sure the neighbor isn’t eyeing me up while having his fourth evening smoke? Maybe it’s a good thing... Keeps his goddamned kids out of my yard.

I need the Big Brain Scramble again... No fount of new material in my actual reality. So bored. So very very bored.
It's too late for you, my friend. If you think you can dabble with high grade hallucinogens at this point in your life cycle without disastrous consequences, it only confirms how long you have been out of the weirdness game. You need to keep one foot in that circle if you want to be able to dive back into the freak water without getting a permanent case of the Big Heebie Jeebies. I don't think you can even remember where the circle is. Your instinct that you need to clean out the cobwebs is dead on, but you gently squeeze a drop of that liquid onto your tongue and the next thing you know, it will be thirty six hours later, and you will have barricaded yourself in your bedroom, and you will be staring at the collars of your dress shirts muttering "The spread has betrayed me . . . betrayed me!" and weeping uncontrollably while behind you all of your best ties have been laid out on your floor to spell the words "SLOW DEATH." Best case scenario is that you end up a born again evangelical type preaching gibberish on some New Jersey boardwalk. Stick with the hash and the Comedy Central, man. It's not pushing the envelope, but it's comfortable, and it beats a stiff Atlantic wind blowing across the boardwalk in early February.

D.K. (a family and emergency physician) assessed the utility of the Super Soaker Max-D 5000. He was surprised to note that it was able to deliver a superbly pressured narrow stream of water equivalent to, or perhaps exceeding, the quality of that achieved with standard ear-syringing instruments. The owner of the Super Soaker Max-D 5000 was sought out; after hearing an explanation of its intended application, he granted permission for its use.
Verbal consent (covering risks and benefits) was obtained from the patient. He then changed into swimming shorts, located himself on an ideal location on the deck and held a Tupperware container (product number 1611-16) to the side of his neck, in lieu of a kidney basin. The Super Soaker Max-D 5000 was filled with body-temperature water and then mildly pressurized using the blue hand-pump. The trigger was depressed, releasing a gentle, narrow jet of water, which was then aimed along the posterior wall of the ear canal (Fig. 1). After approximately 15 seconds, the jet was aimed along the anterior wall. This cycle was repeated (with occasional repressurizing) until the Super Soaker was empty.

Midway through the second load's stream, wax particles began to run out of the ear. Just after starting the third load, a large plug of wax burst forth from the patient's ear. The 3 generations of family members present took turns admiring (or recoiling from) the specimen. The patient exclaimed in joy, "I can hear again!"

International fame and fortune to living with his pregnant girlfriend and her mother in a small apartment. I didn't say it was good; I said I watched it.

While your shameless devotion to horrific music and refusal to feel any embarrassment about your complete ignorance of any music that is not primarily enjoyed by 12 years old girls has a certain quaint charm, this charm is is completely overshadowed by the terrible fact that you have a shameless devotion to horrific music and refuse to feel any embarrassment about your complete ignorance of any music that is not primarily enjoyed by 12 years old girls.

what if she just feels better when she sees famous people fall- sort of like a more-grounded nfh?

edit: I don't mean like nfh as to content, i just meant as to liking seeing celebrities fail.

What I have heard of the new Gang of Four is O.K. at best. Only idiots wear vertically striped shirts. Diagonally striped shirts are where it is at. Hot. Super hot. Trust me on this one.

Your insight is remarkable. Pretty much sums up this board and why music discussions seem to be a waste of time.

I wish there were that many bands I was so in love with. I'm at 3 (flower-obscure), maybe I'm too picky.

{nice Hank note- balt insult omitted here}
