The one thing they did say was that she was suspected of cooking the White House books and stealing cash there. And after their second son died she made Abe attend a sceance in the White House.

They just did this lead-in with "He married a troubled woman." And then they never particularly backed that up.

It sounded pretty sad though. He lost his true love to illness and then married Mary Todd because she expected him to, despite being interested in someone else. Not a recipe for a happy marriage, probably.
I heard he didn't leave her stuck with any debt when he left.

This should be the line for a new anti-smoking ad, with two gay Marlboro men in the background.

One former Marlboro man (well, at least one) was, in fact, a great big gay. He spoke at my undergrad. So if he's still alive, they could have a genuine gay marlboro man for the ad campaign.

He fought two wars. One was in his head.

Ah, hell. It worked on me, didn't it? The History Channel had me at hello.

This reminds me of that. But without all the effort.

I really liked all of it. Other than the Flower part. And the balloon part. And the reconstructing out of hair and skin flakes part. And the birthday part.

On a completely unrelated note, did anyone else watch the Lincoln bio on History channel this week? Did you notice that it was sponsored by Lincoln (the carmaker)? I thought they sort of glossed over a lot. Like what made Mary Todd Lincoln such a "troubled" woman? Also all but one of the female historians who took part in the show seemed oddly manly. Where are all the hot female historians? They have a thing against Honest Abe?
Try to keep up; I'm back in private practice. One of my clients has unauthorized sonogram pictures of her fetus for sale on eBay. I'm just waiting for the call to draft a TRO application.

The first few weeks whenever I retire, I am going to spring for the $2000 and get every goddamned Star Trek DVD in Existence, from Enterprise through the original series through DS9 and watch them all while stoned.

DS9 is on twice a day on Spike TV.

Just FYI, in case you have room on your Tivo.

Call and tell Mr. Federline that it's nice of him to alert you to these scurrilous accusations, but that he's about 18 months too late.
