I think we all like each other enough to hold a civilized discussion, even if we have radically divergent beliefs and positions. We just need to decide to stop going for the outrageous and the offensive.

I don't think I agree with that. If someone feels that Bush lied to the American people, and can cite to evidence, then that is an argument. It has nothing in common with the Hillary photoshops, which are obviously manufactured and intended to provoke.

IF you actually believe that any form of dissent with respect to the war in Iraq is the same thing as capitulation to the enemy, and that anyone who speaks out against the Administration may as well surrender to Al Qaeda, then you are right; it isn't trolling to say so.

Is that your honest belief, Hank?

Wonk, I have a job, and I'm going to Hartford in a bit so i can't engage right now. I will have time to post what I've been trying to say tomorrow*. People here have known me for a long time, and I have been really hurt by these troll attacks lately.

and of course you can attack the President WITH evidence and it's less trollish than Penske.

*unless RT is really mad at me and then I'll shut up instead.

Unclear that even nuclear weapons would be able to disable the program in full.

See above. Israel has no good options, really, which is a situation they are used to. Iran wants to get to a MAD situation with Israel, and then Israel has to worry that a nutcase (like, arguably, President Achmenijad (sp?)) will launch anyway for religious reasons.

The best long-run hope may actually be for a diplomatic solution fo some sort reducing tensions, etc. The single most important key to all of that is a resolution of the Palestinian situation. I think this is, in part, why Olmert is trying to reach out and make some real progress.

So Kurdistan declares independence. If the Turkey doesn't do anything it will encourage the southeastern Kurds in their country to foment rebellions. If they invade, once they leave the country Kurdistan will just form again and they wil be in the same boat. If they stay that just means they will have double the amount of Kurds they will be occupying and giving the Kurds in their own country a further excsue to rebel. Plus it will permanently end any chance of entering the EU. These guys really don't have any options that I can see.
No good options right now. It may just shake itself out if Iraq holds together long term -- which is now in doubt. If I were Turkey, I'd be PISSED at the U.S. right now. But, we need to keep working together and they know it.

You seem to dislike Ty and his posting style. That is easy to ignore, I think. I'm sure you can even get a dispensation from the Board to put him on Ignore (even as an Admin).

Every time you respond, Hank just fills the board with more of the same. You're feeding the troll.
Maybe so, but I'm willing to engage him on the subject because he has a brain and can be interesting when he tries.

For that reason, I'd prefer that he stay around and stop hating. Not sure how to get to the second part, though.

I think some are and some aren't. But (and this may just be my problem), if no one can understand what he's saying or why, is there a perceptible difference?

"Its not you, Hank, its me?" I'm sure he's heard that before.

It is clear to me that Hank's posts are questioning Slave's and Ty's leadership at a point when we should all be rallying around them. The incessant, neverending, reptitious and redundant spew of pro-Infirmation posts has no effect other than comforting the enemy. Hank takes delight in every little stumble that Slave or Ty may make - can you imagine anyone criticizing the way FDR ran WWII in the same way.

Enough of this unAmerican behavor. You are either with America or you are with Hank and the Troll Terrorists everywhere.

They're a lot more personal.

Maybe so, though I think it is (at least) a bit more substantive . Did you ever complain about Penske? If not, where's your standing now?

There's nothing wrong with a meta-discussion designed to improve the quality of the discussion.

If you'd quit trolling and admit that President Bush is infallible, that would be a start.

Are you aware that you've been voted the stupidest poster on the Boards for 4 years running? Mom must be proud!

No, wait, that's GGG. You're the one who is violated by Slave on a regular basis . . . carry on.
