Boy howdy, the Red Sox have really been getting me down lately. Woe is us, and it doesn't take a best-selling Dan Shaughnessy piece of crap to spell it out for us. I would give Denis Leary's left nut for them to win it all (again).

and lately it's becoming obvious there is a curse on the Celtics from when Parris sucker punched Laimbeer. They suck, and they screw up draft choice after draft choice.
You forgot about Len Bias and Reggie Lewis dropping dead, about their drafting Jerome Moiso and Joe Forte (both of whom were clinically dead on draft day). I won't even get into the trade for Vin Baker, at the risk of sounding like a Bill Simmons column. If I wanted to do something creative, I could work in what Kevin McHale has done to the T-Wolves, and Dennis Johnson.

I expect gloating in June from GGG, but figured you'd be too smart for that.

My god, did you see the Tiger's newest pitcher, this kid Miller threw 6 shutout innings last night?

I want to go home and go to bed.

That is all.

You brought it up. What did you expect me to say?

I turned on the game too late to catch him, but I gather he did well.

I don't think the Sox are going to fold. Their pitching is too solid. It took Dice-K a little while, but he really looks good right now. I watched Friday's game against the Padres, when he walked the first three batters he faced, but only the first made it home and that was it for the rest of the game.

But the Tigers and Angels should be hard to beat in the play-offs. They're both good teams. And whoever wins the wild card too -- maybe the Yankees?

In an effort to focus on acheivable goals (now that Rice has disappointed us so), all baseball energy in Houston have been directed towards rooting Craig Biggio on to his 3000th hit.

4 to go and this awful, terrible season can be considered a success.

I am so glad this weekend is over, not because I don't like the gays, but because the parade fucks up traffic all around my place:

Same here.

I take a can't beat 'em, join 'em approach and hang out with the Planned Parenthood float.

The maracas we were handing out with the condoms were really, really popular. I sort of feared for my life at some points.

I ended up missing the whole thing, which is too bad because the place where I take spin classes always seems to have an interesting float. Here are links to pics from yesterday's parade:

I did not miss it. I drank 24 oz cans of PBR (only $3/each at the liquor store 15' away) and enjoyed almost every minute of it.

I don't know which was more amusing - that the Yankees came into town on Pride weekend, or that, on the same weekend, they also scheduled a major NASCAR race in the neighboring county.
