(BTW, no offense, but Wonk was a terrible guess for this. He's more of an old school chef. Try his brisket, it rocks.)
It's not gray and tasteless after you do something resembling real cooking with it.

Sous vide is a gimmick, only slightly less ridiculous than Grant Achatz and his "1st course" of bacon-scented air as you walk into the dining room.

Bacon-scented air better be followed rather quickly with actual bacon or that is just plain cruel.

Walked into bacon-scented air at the grocery store this weekend because they were taste-testing a semi-local (aka Wisconsin) brand of premium bacon.

Morels

Can anyone give me a good reason not to sign up for a crop share of $38 for 1 pound of morels?**

And if you can't, do you have any great recipes involving morels?

**Sadly, the Fugee Family Farm, though it has a bunch of woodland area in the back pasture, appears to have no trees that support the growth of morel mushrooms. Sad.

That's my biggest concern. I've never bought more than a 1/4 pound before.

They don't last too long, I would think (I always use them right away). I'd pass, unless you have a big dinner party planned.

Yum. But I'm not sure what I'd do with a whole pound.

You & Sidd have a good point. I may just have to get smaller amounts from the farmers market during the morel season. Last year I forgot about it until too late.

I get the sense she's one of those people who invites friends over and makes them do the cooking. She's weird that way.
