$64,000 question and I'm leaving it up to the board. I think for the most part we have a general idea of who "regulars" are, even if their post counts haven't reached past 300. It's the outlyers that are trouble and going to cause controversy.

If I were participating, I would want to know who was going to see the pictures before they went up. It's something that needs to be resolved before anything else does, at least from a participant's point of view.

Was there any particular controversy last time as to who got on the members' only list? Maybe leagl can answer, but I thought it was pretty easy to identify people who had been around a while, without regard to post count.

This one seems FB-appropriate:

ii) Yes. We can code the post so that "view source" and right-clicking are disabled, which would prevent people from downloading the pictures directly from our servers.

In fact, we may be able to install a "photo album" add-on to the software which has all that functionality. If we actually do it again, we'll look into our options.
Cool. Having our own board clearly has its privileges.

Nah. I think it only happened that time because people were kind of down and we all needed a distraction.

Agreed. We can work together to make an initial list and then people can contact me to challenge said list (whether it be to argue that they should be on or that someone listed shouldn't be included because they aren't a regular) and I'll take the heat for it.

Please note that I'm not trying to be the arbiter of who gets in and who doesn't. It should be a collective decision. But, complaints and shit need to ultimately go through one person.

It is probably no secret that I heart Thurgreed and have since the day I encountered his rantings. But it is posts like where he steps up that make me realize why I heart him. I heart you, Thurgreed.

(and anticipating the "get down on your knees" response or something of that nature - Yeah, yeah.)

Ha. I think that other people don't want to be the bad guy and I, obviously, don't give a shit. Either way, I think I was pretty fair handing out access to regulars the first time around. This time, it won't be my decision, we can post a list. It's really only the fringe (not fringey) posters who will get pissed off. And to the extent they do get pissed, I have no problem with them being pissed at me. In fact, it probably wouldn't change the current state of affairs.

Translation:

What you lookin' at? You all a bunch of fuckin' assholes. You know why? You don't have the guts to be what you wanna be? You need people like me. You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." So... what that make you? Good? You're not good. You just know how to hide, how to lie. Me, I don't have that problem. Me, I always tell the truth. Even when I lie. So say good night to the bad guy! Come on. The last time you gonna see a bad guy like this again, let me tell you. Come on. Make way for the bad guy. There's a bad guy comin' through! Better get outta his way!
