Less has persuaded me that this is a mistake, so I'm going to cut back, and relinquish those duties to my Gin Rummy, Freebird! and Mongo socks.

Mira Sorvino pulls a Demi. She's (36 and) engaged to her 22 year-old waiter/actor beau. Wedding to come this summer.
And for those who don't care about that sort of thing, there is also mention of an upcoming Robin Williams movie in the story. So click the link already.

Too funny. Waiter/aspiring actor. Whooo, never heard that in LA. I give that marriage a year - tops.
As a one up, Ashton Kucher should start dating an 8 year old.

May 26 sex scandal/fantasy updates:
1. SF cop porno stars:
Porn site with video here - http://www.busstopwhores.com/index.p...arned&warned=y . Scroll down to see the stills of "Mira" in action. Not great looking, but if I have to be in jail, she'll do.
Also there was a nice article in the local rag about how they proably won't get fired, including reference to them "vigorously proceed[ing] to demonstrate a variety of full cavity search techniques not found in the standard police manual."
2. Washingtonienne:
Page Six reports that "JESSICA Cutler - also known as Washingtonienne, the ex-Senate staffer turned sex-obsessed blogger - and her biggest cheerleader, Wonkette editor Ana Marie Cox, have been offered six figures to pose nude for Playboy, according to www.thenationaldebate.com. If they agree, Playboy would use their photos in time for the fall election and pay them more if they pose together."
In further breaking news, she appears not to have graduated from Syracuse and is *really* 26, not 24. Shocking. Plenty of comment and speculation here about who the six sex men are - http://www.calicocat.com/
Now for the pics - nice racks on both of them:
http://www.dazereader.com/weblog.htm
http://http://www.schnittshow.com/main.html
http://www.schnittshow.com/cutler.html
They are blogs, you may need to scroll.

If nothing else, it'll get the department maybe to put some morals section in their employment manual. Of course, when you work in the tenderloin - it might just seem normal.

Agreed. Also saw it on a plane. Worst box office blockbuster ever? Calling it a "85 minute sitcom" is an insult to sitcoms.

Does that work anymore? Should it? What's "immoral" about participating in consensual (sp? sorry dtb) sex? (sorry about the spelling, not the talking about sex). I think that would be a very tough argument to the Ninth.

So I order a very fine bottle of wine, and Poindexter and his mouse let the guy pour them a glass, then DO NOT TOUCH 1 FUCKING DROP. oh my god, they don't drink- ever hear of hand over glass- no thank you. I had to order an extra bottle because of the wasteful little shit. I believe he had poor judgement, plus who wants to work with a never-hungover guy? I said no offer*.
(*there were other reasons, but wasting the wine did bug me.)

Does anyone believe this story for a second? I'm guessing there was no SA present. But Hank had some explaining to do about the bill, and invented the whole non-drinking-SA-gambit. It worked like a charm, didn't it Hank? Didn't it!? Until now.

I don't know, why don't you try it and let us know how your firm feels about it. Report back on your next review.
I think the negative publicity (and they've had more than their share recently) is what's really getting to people. SF police department has become one big joke. This is just the icing on the cake.

They like anyone with power and money, doesn't really matter which side of the political spectrum they fall on.

Was this the real-life inspiration behind Michael McKean's movie "Teddy Bears' Picnic?" I haven't seen it, but I heard it's underrated. Not up to Christopher Guest level, but quite funny.

Cutler is OK, but Wonkette is pretty hot (assuming that's actually her in the link you posted).

Looks like it is. From the movie's website:
Quote:
Based on the exclusive men's retreat Bohemian Grove, where the likes of Richard Nixon, Henry Kissinger, Malcolm Forbes and William F. Buckley, have been known to play, Teddy Bears' Picnic is a wicked little satire about power, class and to a small degree, sex.
|
In other news, my copy of McSweeney's got here today. It's all comic strips.
