I find it somewhat comforting that in this world of chaos and internet noise, you, sb and nfh have found each other.

I heard that it was actually the worst worst, but I should check my source again.

I drive a manual transmission, but mostly because I like to adopt European affectations. I also eat with my fork in my left and knife in my right, cross my sevens, write "29 June 2004," and say "sorry?" instead of "what?" when I didn't hear someone. I do this all to win the approval of young Coltrane, and so that I don't stand out in crowds when on intelligence missions abroad.
Edited to correct embarrassing links/recht mixup.

Agreed, generally. They are, however, good for one-car families, such as mine, where one member was in a car accident earlier in life and is scared to drive, let alone shift gears in traffic.
I see it as an excuse to buy a car with SMG.

When I pick up my iPod and try to remember what I've bought recently and might like to hear, I can't think of anything and just wind up listening to hoary old chestnuts like Björk (hi, RP!) on shuffle play or The Best of Michael McDonald or something. Everything else remains in virtual shrink wrap. (Except Franz Ferdinand and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.)
I'm the Charles Foster Kane of the music world.
Anyone else?

I don't shop for music on-line, but I made the mistake of downloading the Anthology of American Folk Music onto my iPod, and now scrolling through the Artists list is like going to a cocktail party thrown by your grandparents where the only guests are their arty high school friends who never left Appalachia, NTTAWWT. Overwhelmed by the offerings of Blind Lemon Jefferson, Uncle Buck Stephens, and Dock Boggs, I retire to the corner to listen to the Old 97's again and again.

Sadly, I lack the attention span to set up playlists, much less to figure out shuffle mode.

Okay, let me get this straight. You give dirty looks to guys with box cutters who you think are stalking you, but you have to totally run away from guys with whom you've had one bad date?
And, as someone else pointed out, you have 100 stories about guys who are icky or crazy on your morning commute.
I smell socks.

maybe instead of getting all this fancy car-age, you should get her a driver. Or something. Why do you cruelly force her to drive?

Because he's posted about being married and does not live in MA. Maybe if you CARED about the rest of us and spent any time with us, you would know this.

What I meant, Miss Crankypants, is that maybe he's the one who had the car accident and is scared to drive? didya ever think of that? hmmm...didya?
edited to add: on second thought, I like your interpretation better. He's clearly gay. Gayer than cheese, even.
