However, 71% of Bush supporters believe the Rangers are in the World Series. Of those, 69% believe the National League representatives have already forfeited and therefore the Rangers are the 2004 World Series champs.

Iraq = flypaper
Latest reports estimate that the Al Queda operatives in Iraq have increased from 5k to 12k in the last few months. They are coming into Iraq from all over the world. While it sucks if you are in Iraq, the US and Israel are safer for it.
The bad news is that they are well funded. The money is coming from these putative islamic charities that funnel Saudi and american muslim donations through syria to AQ.

Hard to say. Perhaps it meant that the Boston police union isn't really a union. But it was your comment.

My point wasn't to say that your relatives are smart people and that you should listen to them. My point was that the "debate" from either side has no tie to the facts. I guarentee Ty and them will call bullshit and distinguish the above on some grounds. I can't predict how yet, but he'll take the position that the oil-for-food scandal is nothing, and that the UN is a-okay.
Understand, a man who wants to be President wants us to be more mindful of the UN. Put aside for a moment that 1/3 of the countries in the UN are Islamic countries that might have a somewhat different view of what's right, put aside the fact that the main export of the UN is vetoed sanctions against Israel, the UN was facilitating selling air defense to Iraq so that Iraq could shoot at jets carried out UN-approved missions over Iraq. To the extent that's a non-event, its time for some of you people to take one long-assed look in the mirror.

I don't understand why you're talking about the oil-for-food scandal. And did you get upset when Halliburton subsidiaries were doing business with Iraq in the 1990's (where do you think the $$$ to buy French munitions was coming from)?

Actually, Halliburton was also until recently lobbying to do business with Iran through a foreign subsidiary. The truth is, its a complicated web. Everybody is everybody else's both friend and enemy simultaneously on different issues.
So the French sold air defense to the Iraqis. So what? We were selling it to them before the French. I'm wiling to bet a whole lot of the Iraqi army's artillery was shit we gave them during the 80s. Does that make us enemeies of ourselves?
We created it. We fed it. We then broke it. Now we own it.

That statement can cost the church it's tax exemption.
Usually, every four years, the IRS attacks one church encouraging voting for each candidate in order to make an example. But I haven't heard about it happening this year.

What is the likelihood that the IRS will attempt to revoke the tax exempt status of the catholic church in an election year? Keep in mind how heavily catholic ohio and florida and pennsylvania are. Then guess the likelihood.

I said you have a valid point, which I respect. I just disagree with your characterization of its importance.

Club - you need to step up to the plate and defend her honor!
Taxwonk - I think it is great that you were able to restrain yourself and use a pie and not a bullet, but please, this kind of behavior is just not socially acceptable.
- Two Arrested for Hurling Pies at Columnist
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Two men ran onstage and threw custard pies at conservative columnist Ann Coulter as she was giving a speech at the University of Arizona, hitting her in the shoulder, police said.
University police arrested the men but did not release their identities.

In her half-hour speech Thursday night, Coulter trashed Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry and derided liberals and Democrats while saluting conservative students who attended her speech.
Coulter writes a column for Universal Press Syndicate. Her appearance was sponsored by the UA College Republicans.

Hank, if you'll note the title of this line of posts, you will see that your story is almost entirely unrelated to what I was talking about, which is the stupendous ignorance of most of Bush's supporters. That's all I meant.

It's a little hard to know, given that Ventura refused to open his mouth at the press conference. Instead, he let the (independent) former governor of Maine do all the talking.

What I love about my girl is that she chided the hecklers right after saying something like "they couldn't even hit me from that close." Spunky that one.

I think it is time for this love to become requited. You need to write her a letter telling her these things instead of just posting them here. Send her flowers, too. No candy, though. If she ate it, I am sure that would just cause her to stick her finger down her throat to vomit it back up. She looks like she does that often.
Oh, but if she does respond, be careful to check her vagina for teeth. I'm just saying.
