I cannot describe how pleased I am that Boston won for the sole reason that the fans have to now shut up. They are no longer the lovable losers - the Cubs are. Boston is now just another Anaheim, Toronto, or Phoenix. Welcome to losing your identity. Wat are they going to talk about over their chowdah and bee-ahs now?

Clemens retired. Done. We wanted to keep him. He said "golf now!!!" That he is a lying sack of shit - however unsuprising - is not the Yankees fault.
As I see it, the Sox are going to have to built at least 7 more rows above the Monster to pay for #2 and #3 pitchers they need to buy this offseason. |

The lower cost of living is one of the reasons I moved back, too. That said, Pettite really didn't do us much good in the post-season.

The thing about A-Rod is that he really seems to be bad for his teams. Phenomenal stats, sure, but look at his old teams: he leaves Seattle, they immediately get much better; he leaves Texas, they immediately get better. The Yankees didn't do as well as they should have in the stretch (the fact that Boston made a race of it to the pennant was inconceivable at the break). The guy's good, he's just also dugout poison. |
