Bin Laden
So, the Bunnyman and I were down in C-ville for the weekend watching the football game (can you guess whose idea that was?) and i was in a music store and found Bush, Kerry, and BIn Laden dog squeaky toys that were on bargain discount because the election is over. I'd dragged my dog down with me and thought he needed a present, so I went to buy him Kerry to play with. The Bunnyman suggested that it might subject the dog to public ridicule, so I went with BIn Laden. The dog walked around the streets squeaking Bin Laden and everyone stopped and did double takes and then made some sort of funny comment. My question is this...is a political dog toy in poor taste? Should I leave the pooch out of it?

Oh, God, yes. We're talking about a totally outrageous paradigm.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

Yes, I had enough to buy the house, because I saved my money by not buying expensive perfume!
Honestly, there is a Creed shop at my bus stop, and I often go in and take a whiff of this or that, and it's really, really nice. However, I don't really wear perfume. I always forget.

Of course, the smell of saddle and horse sweat really beats any perfume, right?
My favorite smell: the fields thawing in the springtime. Not sure it would ever sell. A bit of an acquired taste.

The pooch seemed to think it tasted just fine.
Maybe you want to see how he does with a Paris Hilton sweaky, too?

You are just upset because you did not think of it. Clarence is on vacation today, by the way. He was very busy this weekend though.

I like the smell of ozone right before it rains on a warm day. I don't know if it's my favorite smell, but it's one that makes me smile.
It would freak me out, though, if a person smelled like that.

2.
And of course, napalm in the morning.
Big fan of all ocean-related smells, except for dead fish.

You may have a good point here. It was certainly darker than other previous Pixar films. I guess my question with that would be, do we really children's films to be darker? This doesn't undermine your observation, but it does call into question the filmmakers' choices.

Okay, so checking back in after over a year without posting . . . (hi, dtb!) Does anyone know where, if anywhere, one can buy Creed perfumes in the DC area? Want to get it for my little brother for Christmas but must smell first.
And you are right--smell of hay can't be beat.

I swear one of my old secretaries sometimes wore perfume that smelled like dirt and must. She wore a flowery scent at other times though, so maybe the dirt and must was her actual scent rather than a different perfume. It freaked me out that she smelled like that.

Demeter makes a perfume called Dirt. Which smells a little like dirt. If you like that kind of thing.

I haven't seen it, and it's on my list of movies to see, but my understanding is that it is the first PG rated Pixar film. I think that takes it out of the "children's film" range a little bit and acknowledges that it's intended for a little bit of an older audience. The only scene I've seen is the "Mr. Incredible putting on his belt" trailer, which I thought was one of the funniest 30 seconds of film I've ever seen. While I'm sure that kids will find it funny, I think it resonates with adults better.
I'm looking forward to it.
