Your distinction is very literal and very well crafted. Its also unecessary. You understood what I meant when I said "semantics" back three posts ago.
|
I assumed what you meant was that you and RT just had a semantic difference because, to you, turning any random event into an adventure or a farce or a drama, perhaps by highlighting meaningless details, but still only saying things that are right on the money, constitutes "embellishment."
I was just pointing out that you were wrong.

Nobody is forcing you to read this exchange, dork-breath. Now go have another bottle of Piss-Corona and shut the fuck up.

I thought the point of RT's post was that her friend was a good storyteller because, using the strict definition of "embellish" - i.e., to make up facts to add to the story - her friend did not embellish. Instead, he stuck to the actual facts, but told them in a way that was more interesting than a simple chronological recitation of events. In fact, I though RT's whole point was to contrast her friend, who used actual facts and therefore did not embellish, with your friend, who made shit up because life was not otherwise sufficiently interesting. In other words, I was under the impression that using the word "embellish" as it is actually defined was an integral part of RT's point. But I may have misread.
|
Ha! Sucker! This is confirmation that you've been institutionalized. Don't interrupt Sebby just because he's embillishing what makes up the definition of the word "embellish." Stupid, lawyerly tool.

You really should put that down in memo form and send it to files.

Not mutually exclusive concepts. Both loathesome characteristsics seem to be on display at all times.

Yes, that I made up. It was just such a good story. I love thinking about swinging cocks... huge, swinging cocks slamming into liquor bottles.

Not only are you wrong, but you know that you're wrong. In fact, you know that I know that you know that you're wrong. That makes your continued insistence that you are right not just stubborn, but also disrespectful.

Don't mean to butt in, but he may be mistaking your disdain for a sense of superiority. I suggest this only because I care about you and would like to see you make more friends.

Wrong about the general usage of embellish? With all due respect*, I honestly don't think I'm wrong.
* To the asshole fourth year associates who insist on using this shit phrase before you rebut a previous statement during argument, it makes you sound like solicitous douchebags. Just get on on with your rebuttal.
