Oh, and do you think when the race comes to New York they'll stand a line of "worshippers" around St. Patrick's Cathedral so these dumbasses can mutter curses while they try to match the crucifixes? Good god almighty.
I think it would be more fun to try to pull a donkey through someone's first communion ceremony.

I don't know where they find these reality show contestants. I really don't.

How is this show? I really want (wanted?) to watch it, because it sounded really fun, but I rarely get home in time (or if I do some lame-ass English league soccer game is often on, and the Mr. is taller than me and so can hold the remote over my head out of my reach, and we don't have TIVO), and I've discovered that reading 3/4 of the episodes summarized on Television Without Pity and then watching the occasional ep on TV is no way to get into a show, much less figure out what the hell is going on. (That said, whether the show is good or not, the TWOP summaries are excellent, not least because the reviewer replaces all subtitled dialogue of the Korean couple with, er, sexually explicit lines.)

I really like it. The writing is better than most of the crap on TV, and the cast is fun to look at. Overall, it's a pretty good show.

beyond Evangeline Lilly and the young blond with the brother? (well, that might be enough . . . )

but, yeah, it's a pretty enjoyable show, but pretty hard to keep up with unless you watch regularly. BRC--your problem is no tivo. Without that, you're lost.

Holy shit! No wonder Arissa sucks so bad at the challenges. I was totally thinking she was Irulan, who did fairly well on the Challenge last year. I wondered what the hell happened to her game to make her such a wuss this year. I blame my confusion on the fact that they never show her saying or doing anything unless it is standing at 50 feet up, crying that she CAN'T ... DO ... THIS ...

Thank you!

The pregnant woman (I forget her name) was pretty as well, don't forget.

Jack, Boone and Jin (the Korean dude) are good looking people. Hurley is fucking hilaroius. Merry (Pippin?) is an interesting character, when he's not brooding. Locke is a freak and is fun to watch.

So long as I'm not eaten by a polar bear ...

Honestly, I am convinced that, if I get Tivo, I will never get off my sofa again and I'll turn into a cross between the Gluttony and Sloth characters in Seven. I don't have a very addictive personality, apparently, except with respect to TV. It is therefore better, I believe, to miss a significant amount of stuff I really want to see than to see everything I would be willing to watch if given the opportunity.

As an aside, I have decided to remove some of the guilt from my TV-watching-instead-of-reading-or-spending-time-with-family-or-saving-the-world habits. Taking the advice of the surgeon general (who apparently suggested that every time an American wants to watch TV he or she should do ten push ups and five sit ups), I will "pay" for each show I watch on TV by doing ten of each. If the next time you see me I have 6-pack abs, you'll know why.

Since you took a few days to tell me your wife told you she caught something from her bf, my treatment didn't start as early as yours did, asshole. The doctor said the burning should be over in a week.

I know you like the to rhyme, but I really prefer when you AVOID adding burning to my yearning.

On a side note, I feel like I sound like Hank in this post. Will that make me turn orange?

'A jury awarded former Inglewood Police Officer Jeremy Morse and partner Officer Bijan Darvish $2.4 million Tuesday, finding that they were unfairly disciplined after the videotaped beating of a black teenager more than two years ago.

The officers had claimed in their lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court that because they were white, they were punished more harshly than a black officer who struck the suspect with a flashlight but was not videotaped.

Morse and Darvish accused the city of racial discrimination.

"They feel vindicated," said the officers' attorney, Gregory Smith. "They've never talked about their side of the story and they've been subjected to a lot of abuse. Finally, their story came out."'

http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la...nes-california

A few questions.

1. Has anyone else seen this video? I saw it this morning and this cop (who is huge) had a 16 year old boy with both hands handcuffed behind his back when he smashed his face onto the car and then punched him in the face. I don't know how an "internal police investigation deemed that the amount of force used in the arrest was reasonable," considering the kid was in absolutely no position to be a threat to anyone when the abuse took place.

2. These two feel they were treated more harshly because the other dumb ass cop who hit the kid with a flashlight off camera was black? Was it explained to them that there was clear, undeniable, visual evidence of their abuse? And maybe that was the reason why they got a harsher punishment? Their argument seems to only make sense if he, too, was caught on tape and received a lesser sentence.

3. The difference between one of the plaintiffs losing his job and not being reassigned and the black cop losing his job as a police officer, while apparently being reassigned as a prison guard amounts to millions of dollars worth of damages? The second plaintiff got six more days of suspension than the black cop (who was not caught on camera) and he received $800,000. This is evidence of reverse discrimination? Are you fucking kidding me? $120,000 a day? Someone explain this.

4. These fucking guys should be hiding their faces. Instead, they have just been given the message that they did no wrong and were treated poorly because they're white. Can someone tell me how much the 16 year old kid got? I wonder what kind of lesson cops will take from all of this.

Even better, put a tv/tivo in the excercise room. You can kill 2 birds with one stone.

Plus, would it reduce your guilt somewhat if you knew that you could watch a 1 hour show in about 40-45 minutes because you never have to watch a commercial for cialis or viagra ever again.
