Wrong. You play . . . to win . . . the game! It's that simple. You play . . . to win . . . the game!

House of Sand and Fog
I saw this last night. I thought it was quite well done. Did it get any Oscar noms the year it came out? Ben Kingsley is so amazing, I'd be surprised if he didn't get a nom for that. The young actor playing his son was amazing as well. Also, I can see pony trekker's point re: Jennifer Connelly after seeing that flick. Hot bod. The Deputy Sheriff guy is from some tv show, right? ER?

The book was way better.
The cop was the guy from some stupid comedy with Rob Schneider "Men Behaving Badly" I think it ran for like 10 shows.
Now he's Blind Justice. Blind cop guy.
And there's supposed to be a picture of Satan on this turtle, and I've squinted and done all that, but I just don't see Satan. Unless Satan looks a little like a goat with yellow ears.

Hmm. Yes. Men Behaving Badly. Never saw it. I think he got that role after a stint on ER as an EMT guy. Might have been a romantic interest for some main character. But it's been a while since I watched ER, so I could be wrong.
It looks like a donkey to me.
[ETA: he was a romantic interest for Julianna Margulies's character. Apparently alcohol hasn't killed off all my brain cells yet. Glad I've stored away that ER-from-a-decade-ago trivia.]

Satan looks like a goat with yellow ears.
BR(I now have some weird, black-robed chorus chanting in the back of my head: "Devil Turtle, Devil Turtle!" I got too little sleep this weekend)C
eta: Actually, on reflection it looks more like Dino from the flintstones ....

Donkey with an open mouth (or curled-down lower lip) and possibly big googly cat-type eyes. {ETA Sideways cat-type eyes.}
What is the name of this actor you speak of? I have not seen HoSaF.

They say he's lower than that.
Owner Bryan Dora now says he sees an image of Satan’s face on the critter’s shell. He can spot lips, eyes, a goatee, shoulders and a pair of pointy horns on Lucky’s back.
I do not see the goatee. Just the goat.

He looks way better with his hair that color than he did as a blond.
I can see two possibilities for horns, one pair yellow and set far apart, and another set close together. but I still say donkey. I would be willing to compromise on goat.

Most depressing movie I've ever seen in my entire life.

And the turtle is named "Lucky"? Jesus.
In other movie news, Mrs. Not Bob and I both give "The Upside of Anger" (Joan Allen, Kevin Costner, directed by that idiot who played the twit in that HBO "Mind of The Married Man" piece of garbage) two thumbs up.
Joan Allen was fantastic. That chick is IN-tense. And Costner wasn't the pompous twit he has been for the last decade or so. Even a little eye candy with the older daughters. We weren't thrilled with the twist, but it was -- overall -- a fun movie to watch.
