That's why I'm around. And I learned something 'bout the Ohio market.
On the failing firms front here, looks like Testa Hurwitz's been added to the watch list thanks to the departure of one of their few real heavy hitters. Stay tuned.

But on the positive side, isn't the Big Dig Construction almost completed? Maybe? Close?
GO get a Kelly's Roast Beef sandwich. By the time you're finished with it, you'll feel right as rain!

At the risk of being obnoxious and channeling Paigow (no, those aren't to be considered as two separate things), how does the new avatar reflect your personality?
Are you Ren or Stimpy in the particular scenario? Schlemiel or Shlemozzel? (sp and sp?)
Let me guess.

On top of the bubble bursting, Dick Testa died (he was quite young, in his 60s, very sad) and his successors are having trouble holding it together. There is some kind of restructuring going on, and a lot of rumblings of discontent, and now one of their big guns has left. Maybe they'll get together and pull through it, but it's pretty clear that hard times are here in a big way. They've shrunk so much it's no longer relevant whether they fled voluntarily or were pushed. Those who can successfully flee are viewed all around as the winners.
Sorry to bring this joy into your day. Maybe it is time for some really greasy stuff at Kellys (or, since it's over 90 degrees, maybe it's time for one of those North Shore clam shacks ... ummmm).

if the avatar reflects your personality, does that mean that you look like a bad frankenstein imitation or just see yourself as one, mr. spookyfish?

No, in my own bizarre way, it was support for Viacom against the completely reCOCKulous Spike Lee lawsuit.

I'm no copyright expert, but how is this one any different than any of the other avatars used by board dinizens? Well, let me rephrase, how is it different than any of the other "famous people/things/t.v. shows/etc." avatars used by board dinizens.
I just like to type the word dinizens.

Who doesn't like Herman or sometimes feel like Herman? He is, like many of us (myself included), a misfit who thinks he is completely normal and it doesn't even register on his radar screen that the rest of the world views him as a freak.
Despite his freakishness, however, he is completely comfortable in his own skin. Who doesn't aspire to be like that?
That, and I'm kinda tall and have a flat head.

i suppose that given my avatar i shouldn't tease you guys too much about yours because it just would set me up for snide comments.
