This is a perfect story for this board because it supports everyone's fears.
The right thinking people look at this and see further evidence that Europe will indeed soon be a big Islamic republic and we will be on our own soon, and better get ready for that.
The lefties will see further evidence that America is out of step with the world and will plea for getting rid of MLK day and replacing it with Civil rights fighters day, to also include Arafat.
Win Win!
- Ditch Holocaust day, advisers urge Blair
Abul Taher
ADVISERS appointed by Tony Blair after the London bombings are proposing to scrap the Jewish Holocaust Memorial Day because it is regarded as offensive to Muslims.
They want to replace it with a Genocide Day that would recognise the mass murder of Muslims in Palestine, Chechnya and Bosnia as well as people of other faiths.

I didn't go read the story, but why is Holocaust day offensive to Muslims?

I'm actually OK with something like this, although not for that reason. But there's no reason that the holocaust needs to be singled out as a day of rememberance. Include all genocides, including Rewanda and Darfur, and call it something like "Genocide Remembrance Day."

Because Hitler was stopped before he could finish the job.

Beyond the 6 million killed? there is also the fact that the Holocaust happened on European soil and was executed by a European country that sits alongside England.

What's the difference between 1 million and 6 million. Is one more horrible than the other? And what is the significance of it happening in a country that site next to England. England was on the right side of that war.

Do England and Germany share a border at Epcot?

1. Its not shitty law if you believe we have a right to privacy (which we all do - the Constitution/Bill of Rights aren't shit without their obvious, logical, implicit right to privacy). If we don't have a right to privacy, we have nothing; that right was so fucking patently obvious the Founders didn't feel the need to write it explictly. It so obviously runs through every word of the Constitution that to argue it doesn't is, well, fucking absurd.
2. Vox populi my ass. Let the states decide on abortion and we'll see a minority of people in sparsely populated states outlaw it. It will remain legal in every state that counts (excluding a few white trash bible thumper havens). BTW... Will we in the blue states have to subsidize all the bastard children the bible thumpers have? I say bollocks to that. You want those fucking kids, you regressive biblical literalist piece of trailer trash? You pay for them - at the state level. States rights, you know! Better work two shifts at the 7/11 from now on... Or maybe you can see if your pastor will donate for the child's welfare, since its probably his anyway.
3. Luttig has no chance. Too strident. I don't want any 4th Circuit trash on the Court. Just pop Gonzales in and lets get it over with. He's fine by me.

This is a red-letter day. I don't think I've ever agreed with anything you've said in this forum, until now.
Huh. Go figure.
(I also don't understand why Holocaust Remembrance would be offensive to Muslims -- that's stupid. Though I do suspect you're right about the reason behind that as well.)

I couldn't agree more! If we can't get the poor and stupid to reproduce more, where will we get clueless bodies to ship to Baghdad?

Its the Fetus Strategy. The GOP knows their race baiting Southern Strategy has a limited shelf life. They plan to replace it with a new strategy in about 18 years:
"Vote GOP! You owe us! Without us, you'd have never been born!*"
* And while you're voting, join the Army, so we can usse you to test Irving Kristol's latest shitasss theory in some backwash tin pot dictatorship.

The world according to Penske: Anyone who believes in the right to abortion is "a culturalist of death."
Of course, Penske does not believe that "society's interest in protecting the unborn life outweigh's the mother's rights."
Go figure. (I figure that Penske is so full of shit that his eyes fart, but whatever.)

It was so patently obvious that it took the court until Griswold to find it. Man, those early Justices were stupid.

And all those poor inner-city black children that Kanye West says Bush doesn't care about? Who is paying for them now? Or do we only support people in Appalachia?
Unless you live in, say, Chicago, your vote only counts once.

Is this the general or specific "you"? Because if I live in a trailer, I want the landlord to give back some of our rent.

And then we have another AG battle and more smearing from the Dems. That is just silly.
