It was not Trotter's best night, either. Game ball goes to Kevin Mathis.

Game ball goes to me in Str8's friend's pool for avoiding elimination. 91 out of 167 lost in the first week.

I lost 1 of my 2 entries (thanks Panthers), but am rebuying. This week's a little easier.

I don't think the Iggles' defense could have played much better than it did. Blame Akers, Reid (for not getting the ball to seemingly untacklable Mr. Westbrook) and Donovan, in that order.

I lost 1 of my 3 entries - fucking Viking choker losers (2 of 4 if you count the lawtalkers thing, but since only bnb dtb and I joined, I'm writing that one off anyway). Mr Man went 3 for 3 in his elimintation pools, all with different picks (NE, Pitt (my call on that one) and Chicago to lose). He got honorable mention in the email that went around for being the only player to be still alive in the pick-a-winner and the pick-a-loser pools run by one guy.

And I starting wishing the power would go out again today at some point during my 7 hour long conference call this morning/afternoon. At least for long enough to require the firm to take the phone system down. No such luck.

That is all.

Thanks for slowing down with the posting long enough for me to get caught up.

You can thank me for that. I stuck Penske and Hank in the trunk of my car. There was a lot of muffled yelling at first, but then it got a lot quieter. Except for the rocking.

That could make having the sex in the back seat more fun.

Wait . . . how rhythmic is that rocking?

No, it did not take me more than 12 hours to come up with that response. I really didn't read monkey's post until just now.

In other news, I have an Actual Fashion Question: why don't the knee thingies coordinate with the rest of the outfit? Related non-fashion question: If there's no actual need for camoflage, why do they have to wear the camoflage outfit? I guess it solves the "what do I wear today" question and may help them tell which team people are on, though it seems like the other side could get some of our team's uniforms and use them for infiltration purposes, if we are going by outfit. And I wish I knew how to crop; the bombed-out car is distracting.

Finally, I am assuming if the cause of sleeplessness is an ill-advised nap, it's not really insomnia, but any insight would be appreciated.

They were limited to one carry-on.

But I think those are the desert/hot places camouflage, and they do need it from time to time. And the knee thingies coordinate with the interior of the helmets, the goggles and, of course, the guns. Sort of a matching shoes & belt & purse concept.

Re: the green cammo, the marines originally wore it in Iraq because they literally did not have enough sets of the desert cammo to outfit all of the soldiers. I think by now enough desert cammo gear has been delivered.

Anyone gone there on vacay? If so, where did you go, where did you stay?

Thanks

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

I've seen the ReBirth Brass Band at ACL twice now, and I loved their set both times.

I heard on the radio this morning that all nine members of the band lost their houses in Katrina. Apparently they're just starting a tour, so if you can, check them out over the next few weeks. I'll be at the Engine Room on October 7 to see them.

I have heard that the AK-47 was actually quite popular with the American GIs in Vietnam because it was more reliable than whatever they were being issued (M-16?). I'd like to think we'd worked out the bugs in our equipment by now, though.
