I know my posts have been quite uncreative in the last - oh, say -3 years or so, but ouch. That hurts.

Should they have lied for him (to the FBI or under oath to the grand jury)? And would it have even helped him if they did, since the indictment indicates that someone told Fitzgerald that Libby learned about Plame working for the CIA from the Vice President, and not from the reporters?

Not suggesting they should've. Only observing that they probably didn't get the same from Libby that, if some rumors are to be believed, did Miller.

- Democratic leaders offer a national security plan
Proposal aims for reduction of troops in Iraq
WASHINGTON -- A year after failing to convince most voters that Democrats can protect the United States, party leaders yesterday issued the outlines of a new national security message built on plans to reduce US troops in Iraq and sharply increase security spending at home.
Money Quote!
- Separately, Clinton administration secretary of state Madeleine K. Albright delivered a report to top Democratic congressional leaders calling for a 50 percent increase in federal spending on homeland security, the creation of a domestic intelligence agency, and a Cabinet-level ranking for the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
''We are all looking at the Iraq issue, how to make America safe and not leave the situation in complete chaos," Albright added, echoing many of Kerry's themes. ''The Democrats are basically supportive of the troops."
Has anyone here taken the bet on the Dems losing 3 more senate seats next year? I've got money out with several fellow traveler neighbors, but no reason for the board to miss out.

Someone plopped a steamer in the gene pool
it's not the right time to be sober
now the idiots have taken over
spreading like a social cancer, is there an answer?
Mensa membership conceding
tell me why and how are all the stupid people breeding
Watson, it's really elementary
the industrial revolution
has flipped the bitch on evolution
the benevolent and wise are being thwarted, ostracized, what a bummer
the world keeps getting dumber
insensitivity is standard and faith is being fancied over reason
darwin's rollin over in his coffin
the fittest are surviving much less often
now everything seems to be reversing, and it's worsening
someone flopped a steamer in the gene pool
now angry mob mentality's no longer the exception, it's the rule
and im startin to feel a lot like charlton heston
stranded on a primate planet
apes and orangutans that ran it to the ground
with generals and the armies that obeyed them
followers following fables
philosophies that enable them to rule without regard
there's no point for democracy when ignorance is celebrated
political scientists get the same one vote as some Arkansas inbred
majority rule, don't work in mental institutions
sometimes the smallest softest voice carries the grand biggest solutions
what are we left with?
a nation of god-fearing pregnant nationalists
who feel it's their duty to populate the homeland
pass on traditions
how to get ahead religions
And prosperity via simpleton culture
the idiots are takin over [x8]
