What is it with you people? I have a full-time job! On top of that, I've got horses to ride, yoga to do, coffee to drink and stationary bicycles to spin. I'm swamped!

Is it any wonder lawyers invented the non-discoverability of the work product leading up to their public utterances?

Non-new yorkers don't get it, dtb. They either are clueless about the size of our kitchens and the vast opportunities for ordering incredibly good food in this city, or they are just being randomly judgmental. Shocking for this crowd, I know.

First, dtb is not spending Thanksgiving in the City. second, her country house has a perfectly large kitchen.

Oh. When I lived in the suburbs of NYC, I had Thanksgiving dinner catered as well. It's all about the mentality, Hank.

Right. We remember what happened last time when you said you'd bring the beer.

The last time I made Thanksgiving dinner for the Fugee clan, I was somewhat dismayed to realize I had been preparing food for hours for a meal that was over in less than one hour. At that point, ordering food in did not seem like such a bad thing.
The Fugee Brother is having Thanksgiving at their house so all I have to do is make and bring one thing. Yippee! Unfortunately, the SIL is not a fan of fresh free range turkey and brining so the meat won't be as good as mine was. But I'll just remember how little work I had to do and think that can be easily overlooked.

No, I was just reminding dtb that this is an "anonymous" Internet forum, in which you get to be the best version of yourself to the people to whom you are not out, and a huge inside joke to the people who know better. See, e.g., PLF's entire persona.
BTW, I'm not randomly judgmental.

Speaking of White Trash cooking....
I found this book:
There is a recipe in it for Cooter Pie. I'm not sure what cooter is (other than in the context of Lawtalkers) but it is in the chapter "Fish, Cooter & Shrimp." The recipe starts out:
"First you take a live cooter and wait for him to stick his head out from under his shell. When he does, you grab it and whack it off."
Don't think we'll be serving that at the Fugee Family Thanksgiving.
