I see. They could speed them up if they just replaced the cashiers with vacuum cleaners. "Please hold up your wallet here"

I sense that you dislike the Whole Foods. For me, it is a money saver, because it is always the alternative to eating out somewhere. Perhaps your options differ from mine though. You have a designated person in your household who enjoys the cooking and the cleaning up processes?

Yeh, but once you eat their stuff, you can't buy your shit at ACME anymore.

A reliable source tells me that Trader Joes is the new Whole Foods for the in crowd and that only losers and poseurs shop at Whole Foods.

I shop at both, for different things. TJ does produce in weird ways.

Nah. Trader Joes is where you shop for stuff for a party.

Too much frozen stuff. I don't do the frozen seafood thing.

Same "reliable source" about the non-existent activities under your nose? I'm skeptical of you and your sources.

I dislike the prices at whole foods, particularly relative to the overall quality. They offer value on some things (their affineur around here is terrific).* But a lot of their stuff is overpriced/same quality as the safeway down the street.

Yes. I like to cook. No one likes to clean, but with my new dishwasher, about all I have to remove from the plate is the t-bone.

So true. The SO lost her shit in some kind of grocery shopping nirvana last night, and must've spent an hour or two emptying the contents of the entire Trader Joe's in Redondo.

I'm gonna be eating frozen chimichangas for the rest of my days. (And finishing it off with 8 kinds of chocolate, so I suppose it's not ALL bad.)

Trader Joe's is a mile away (aka "driving distance" for grocery stores). Whole Foods is a block away (aka "walking distance").

Plus the uber-smug divorcee crowd looks down upon those who use the word "poseur".

Yeah, but we're on the other side of the ears. Totally different area of coupledom.

BTW, and totally unrelated, unless he needs the URL for the same reason that I needed the URL, Mini Motoring Gear is a great place for Christmas presents for Mini Cooper drivers and devotees.
