I really like to have the "You Won" from spider Solitaire exploding on my computer screen when I'm not working- I think it sends a message of a "man in control" to visitors to my office.

Problem is that the last few months I never seemed to win in the mornings- when I did win it was always late in the day so i really didn't get mileage out of it. BUT this week I have won EVERY morning so the screen is doing it's magic ALL day. So yay me!

Hank Chinaski- Great Expectations!

If by "don't phase out" you don't include "keep raising the price of to recockulous levels" then you're probably alright.

Besides, doesn't the patent on that sucker expire soon? It was introduced in what, 1990 or so?

They are human sized turtles with the power of speech who walk on two legs. That qualifies.

My guess would be mid-teens. They took the subway a lot.

That's way better than my claims to fame, which for the benefit of the null set of newbers here, is Pyramid (Donny Osmond version) and Greed. And a documentary on french language canadian TV. But that one gets bonus points because I had my long hair, which for those of you who've met me, is, yes, as laughable as it sounds. Perhaps more so.

1836

So someone in Houston bought the San Jose Earthquakes, and MLS is coming to town!

Problem: We're not exactly earthquake country, and in light of Rita and Katrina, naming the team after the natural disaster that we're prone to might be a little tacky.

Solution: Rename the team.

Idiocy: Rename the team Houston 1836. Which is stupid on a number of levels, the most obvious of which is that 1836 is, among other things, the year of the Texas Revolution. From Mexico. When a shitload of Mexicans were killed.*

Who the fuck do they think are going to go the the soccer games?

*So Texans could own slaves. I'm so proud.

And I have no gaps in my resume.
Know what I did? I switched over to noting time in terms of years instead of months on my resume before my last move. No one seemed to care one bit. Maybe it is because I am really old and have had comparitively few jobs, but still.

I have no gaps in my resume.

I may not be ABBA-level genuis, but I can figure out a thing or two.
