1. I've never been accused of being a wordsmith. It's an unfair and unkind thing to say and I want you to take it back.

2. I told you I would be straightforward. In this case, "throwing you a bone" would mean I wasn't being truthful. I said exactly what I thought in the most straightforward way. If you are upset because I didn't say that someone could find you attractive, I can't be sorry for that. Straightforward means straightforward. Ask a wordsmith.

3. You have basically said you would have posted exactly what I said, except you would have thrown in something that wasn't true. There was no blow to soften. I didn't say you were ugly. I said you were not pretty. If you have been walking around thinking you're pretty, then, I can see how your feelings got hurt. But I didn't embellish. Like I said, I was straightforward.

That's like 60% of people. Its truly rare to meet someone you can actually say is "ugly." Unattractive is a common thing.

I think most of us fall into the not unattractive category, but it has many grades within it.

Of course, none of this means anything if you subscribe to ppnyc's Jeff Skilling-esque booking of "attractive."

I have an ex-boyfriend who has fibrous dysplasia. His head is literally deformed by weird bone growths in his skull (actually right now it's deformed because half his skull isn't there and he's waiting for the metal plate to be constructed, but I digress). He, objectively, is probably ugly or at least grotesque (at least, before he had the surgery, I haven't seen him since the surgery, and there was a plastic surgeon involved in putting him back together again).

But when we were dating, I found him to be attractive. He has some rather remarkable features that help lessen the deformities and he does what he can to draw your attention away from the top of his head. I guess I'm saying that ugly people can be attractive, at least if they have other good qualities that minimize their flaws.

That is what I mean. He *SO* lives to do stuff like that. At my expense. which I volunteered for. which makes me a frickin dolt. But I got my way. At the min. even if I don't ah, meet his standards, even he agrees I am not ugly.
