A law student who tells a good tale should probably not waste that talent on satire about BIGLAW life.

David Lat let himself be outed as Article III Groupie in The New Yorker, and used the publicity boost as a ticket to leave his job as a AUSA (D.N.J.) for a fame- and fortune-filled future in the glamorous world of blogging.

Mr. Wonk -
We received your entry. Unfortunately, we are not able to process it at this time because the face is entirely obstructed by what appears to be a blotch of some sort.
Perhaps you should have your copier checked for maintaneance issues.
Thank you,

Didn't he go to Wonkette for awhile? I just checked and it looks like Underneath Their Robes is back in business. Is the Article III Groupie posting there also David Lat or did he license the name?
Hmph. No one ever paid me to blog.

Did anyone think the blog was a "must-read"? The nicest I would say is that I looked at it a couple of times, and may have once found it amusing. The whole thing seemed like a gripping depiction of law-firm life only for law students who don't know what they're getting into and are willing to listen to another law student if he tells a good tale.
Or do I just not appreciate a good satire?

2. It's a cute premise, but I never understood how it was the basis for a perpetual blog or a complete book.

Wikipedia's entry on him explains. He was Article III Groupie at Underneath Their Robes until the New Yorker outed him, at which point he took the blog down. He then left his AUSA job and joined Wonkette. A couple of months ago he left Wonkette for Above The Law, and is also at Underneath Their Robes.
eta: It's hard for me to believe that you make much money writing for these sites, but maybe someone will disabuse me of that notion. I think I saw an article that referred to how much money Kos makes -- and I'm sure he generates much more traffic -- and I think he'd be making more working as a AUSA. NTTAWWT.

Actually, I didn't get wonk's PM -- maybe something is wrong with my mailbox. But someone else stepped up, so all is well and the quest for attention is going full throttle. Thank you for your offer, and thank you to wonk for his.
