Why is it so hard

In truth, I am confronting a related problem. I very rarely wear suits -- only for going to court, or for a mediation before a retired judge. Even in the latter circumstance, I am starting not to wear a suit. I haven't worn a suit to meet with a client in roughly three years (and I was somewhat oddly overdressed in that instance).

So. Next year (I hope), I expect to have a very long trial. Giving me a good excuse to go buy some nice suits. But, I am wondering if I should avoid the high-end racks that I went to, say, last time I bought sport coats (which is what I wear most days).

It may be a jury trial, but more likely it will be before a judge. But a judge in a butthole urban area. Wearing Canali or Zegna could make me look smarmy. But goooooood.

Argh. What to do? Suits are a tool of the trade -- so shouldn't I get the tool that works best?
David Boies dresses in navy blue suits purchased at Sears. At least he did when he was at Cravath. There was a reason for that and it's not because he was cheap.

This is another one of those things I never get right.

Because his juries were composed of J.C. Penney-clad middle school guidance counselors?

Inconceivable? I do not think that that word means what you think it means.

not to be a "timmy," but Sidd's trial will be in a "butthole urban area," not the country.

Actually, his favorite was a brown one. Positively disgusting.

You should have seen his secretary - what a horror show.

Largely because his juries were filled with New Yorkers who either weren't smart enough to get out of jury duty or were there because they needed the money and the free lunch.

True. If we have a jury, I might dress like Huggy Bear.

Some Brits also refer to their SHED-yewl, and drive Jag-you-ares. You aren't helping her case.

Actual conversation witnessed once in Wildwood, New Jersey:

Greasy-looking male Shore-Dweller to big-haired, gum-chewing female Shore-Dweller

He: You dancin'?

She: You askin'?

He: If you're dancin'. I'm askin'.

She: If you're askin', I'm dancin'.

It's best left to the experts.

I recently argued with someone because I said it was the best movie ever. Every line in the movie is so good. Plus Jamie Lee Curtis had a ridiculous rack.
