I am going to Miami for a weekend in December. I can't wait, and it's not even really that cold out yet here.

Stupid Story

He replies Billy Crystal style "no you look mahhvelous" I cracked up. [Disclaimer: this isn't an I think I'm hot story or even an offshoot of one, just silly story--what a goofball he was]
No. Not a silly story, a stupid story, like you said in the subject line.

And you absolutely want it to be a "I think I'm hot story" or you wouldn't have written the part about how he "literally blew a kiss at you" (and I'd love to know why you thought adding "literally" to that sentence means anything). It has nothing to do with the silliness of the story.

Rofl, I hope that first para. isn't aimed at me. I'm far from frugal, and as indicated I understand the lust, to a degree. And I'm the last to claim moral superiority. This isn't a personal thing - I don't know if you really are obnoxious, hare-brained, dumb or vapid...but I do know you blab a lot about fitting in to some mythical circle you evidently feel you should look like and work your ass off to pass for.

But really, the "you do it, so why shouldn't I" of the second para. is so stupid.

I don't know or care if she's liquid or not in reality. I'm just irritated with the self-professed martyrdom paired with the patent lust for recognizable-in-certain-circles names under the guise of "quality." She evidently thinks it's a big deal that she is virtually indistinguishable by label from attorneys and banker-wives; I find that sad and the constant assertions tedious and suspect. I also think saying "I work OT to hedge against my car blowing up" (implying that without the OT they'd be up a creek if it happened) and "it's all for the kids" to sound incongruous with the "I want I want I want" of the rest of the posts.
You yourself posted that you appreciated bnb's tip about the Vickie's cashmere silk sweaters since "you are not in a financial situation commensurate with your need" everyone has wants everyone has bills everyone has shit to buy, for the kids, everyone wants to save....these are basic human things. We all want our kids to be happy. How is that annoying? The frequency of what I post, surely. but you're being harsh

Hmm. I'm thinking about headed to Art Basel this year. I've never been before, but I heard it's pretty amazing stuff. And the parties are supposed to be outstanding.

I may never return to upstate NY again, now that my mom has sold her house there and moved to live near my sister. This thought generally makes me happy, but maybe I'll want to see the old home town sometime in the far distant future. (and not during the annual six months of winter, naturally.)

I said this at my best friend's funeral in Syracuse, in December... that I now had no more reason to ever come upstate ever again.

But events have conspired to overcome that objection, or something like that.

I only see the old digs in upstate NY for the occassional funeral, but am truly amazed that it looks like there could be Democrats elected to Congress from there this November. Something has changed from when I was a kiddie and Nixon won the class Mock Election 26-3.

Okay. I am putting this on the record. Anyone who comes to South Florida this winter and doesn't at least try to have a drink with me is going to get on my bad list.

Well, except for maybe one or two of you. But I'm guessing you know who you are.
