Today, some numbnut (and I use that term advisedly) is standing in the middle of Times Square with a cowboy hat, boots, briefs underwear labeled NC, and a guitar labeled "Naked Cowboy." He is playing and singing for amused onlookers and posing for pictures.

It is about 29 degrees F, and breezy, today in TCOTU.

I do not believe that the Naked Cowboy was Thurgreed, largely because the Naked Cowboy appeared somewhat pale. However, as I say, it is cold today.

The naked cowboy is a NY staple, but he's def. nuts, I feel. It is 27 but feels 17 with wind. I literally ran out and came back for lunch.

The Combos website (http://www.combos.com/) doesn't even believe it. Under "How Combos Are Made", we discover that the combos are "filled with a creamy, delicious cheese-flavored filling". So, the "real cheese" must be used in creating the cheese-flavoring for the filling.

Maybe it's real, flavorless cheese to which they add cheese flavor. For that unique, zesty taste that manages your hunger.

Possible. But then they should probably just call it "cheese". It must be a marketing thing--it they seemed too much like real food, no one would buy them?

Today I ordered a small soup to go with my bacon and avocado sandwich (no pickle, but still delish). The cashier gave me a medium soup but charged me for a small. When I saw the medium soup going into the bag I thought -- hooray -- more soup for me!! I did not draw her error to her attention.

Now I feel bad. Would you have pointed out the mistake and paid for the larger soup?

Note: this has happened to me before at the same place -- and I pointed out the error in the past, and the cashier just giggled and said that it was my lucky day and didn't charge me for the difference.

If it makes any difference, the cashier is kind of cute.

I would like to say that I consistently would point it out, but that probably isn't true. Like you, I would generally think that pointing it out is the right thing to do, but I know there have been similar occassions where I have not.

Seriously? I'm not sure I'd ever point it out. I mean, it's soup. It isn't like the extra 2 ounces they've thrown in costs enough to matter and I'm sure the containers cost the same. It is like pointing out that I ordered 2 tea bags in a Starbucks tea when they ring me up for the lower price. I assume that they know what they're doing when they ring up the smaller price and they are either trying to garner goodwill for a potential tip or they think it is stupid to charge for the second tea bag.

I've also worked in the service industry enough to know that the cashier doesn't care one bit about the small/regular soup discrepancy.

when I worked at a take out, and we were mad at a customer, sometimes we'd up them to the bigger size because a medium container is easier to spit into than a small. gwnc is probably safe, but you be careful out there.
