I apologise.....
for poo-pooing the affects of global warming. A friend sent me a pictorial documenting the horrific affects that global warming is having on real people in very short spans of time. I copy the evidence here.....

If measured only by the level of vitriol directed at her, I'd say yes.

You see that the President's war is a failure, and you're fixing to blame it on the Democrats. The trouble is, you and everyone else knows that's bullshit. The President has had everything he wanted for this war, and he fucked it up.

But isn't that what you guys wanted from 2002-2006? Bush was asking for the Senate's input?
Those were the good old days, Slave, when your party controlled every damn thing, and had damn near free reign over national security policy -- and most especially Iraq. The White House ran the show -- as it still does. The Administration's considerable skill at governing in campaign mode and politicizing the "War on Terror" had almost every politician in line.
How did that work for you?
That's the hell of it, isn't it? You guys had everything, and now your complaint is that the Democrats didn't stop the GOp from committing what may turn out to be the greatest foreign policy fuckup in a long, long time.

I see that the "war" is a complete and utter success in that we are taking it to the enemy - the Islamists - over there and not here.
Period. End of story.
What is bullshit is that the Democrats and the Left - guys like you - want to not only whitewash this success, but to somehow step back and abandon the safeguards and steps we have implemented (not nearly enough, IMHO) here, and basically make it easier for those who would kill you to do so.
That the neo-cons were a bunch of optimists that failed to realize that Islamic fervor and infighting would triumph over any attempts at establishing democracy over there was indeed a failure. Lesson learned. True.
But don't give me this Biden-ish and Kerry-ish crap about fuckups and the like. The Dems read the intel, voted for everything, and they never said word "boo" until it was politically expedient to bad mouth the President. And yet still doesn't have the sack to do anything about it.

I'm not complaining. However, I think its despicable for the do-nothing Senate Democrats to talk a lot of smack, when they sat on their hands for years, did nothing, and now are trying to whitewash history.
Give a guy like Kucinich credit - he talked the talk and walked the walk back in the day. Unlike flip-flop from MA, who voted for funding, until he didn't.
My problems with this admin is all domestic, not foreign.

technical question
I have learned from all the well read Dems here that missile defense is an empty sink hole for cash, and cannot possibly work, and I have accepted that truth.
But I just read Putin's remarks about the US and he mentioned our setting up missile defense as an aggressive act. Does't he know that it is an empty sink hole for cash, and cannot possibly work? You would think he would want us wasting our money.
Ty. Can you get get someone to check your facts?

You change gears so quickly. A moment ago you were bitching that the Democrats had filibustered everything -- now the complaint is that they "voted for everything." If Democrats lined up and committed ritual mass suicide, you would surely still have some complaint about it.

:seenno:
Yeah. And absent the Iraq War the streets of America would be crawling with Islamic terrorists and suicide bombers in running battles with the police and National Guard. We wouldn'tr have any way to stop it at all.
You rest your entire analysis of this "success", apparently, on a completely unproven and unprovable hypothetical. Nice work if you can get it.

Ok -- Any adverse consequences to this failure? Any way in which this wonderful political and policy triumph has worsened America's position in the world? If so, to save time, please explain up front how this can all be blamed on our party.

Next you'll explain how Lay and Skilling and Fastow weren't really all that culpable in the Enron scandal -- it was the damn VPs and middle management.
Simply not credible.

the problem most of us have is that the "ritual mass suicide" course the Dems have chosen is likely to take the rest of us with them.
