See, there you go again. It's "class warfare" when someone points out that poor people aren't doing so well. When someone institutes policies that make this happen, that's just the natural order of things.
|
You see. The sympathy vote worked.
Even Sidd is now defending Edwards.

They can. It's when they suggest that the country implement policies to fix the disparity which would prevent many others who are close to being wealthy from getting getting over the "cusp" from upper middle class to "wealthy" that those do-gooders start pulling up the ladder behind them.

There is no class warfare. I want to help the poor. We all want to help the poor.
But I don't want my taxes raised to do it.
The Dems want to have class warfare. They're advocating more of my money be redistributed to others because I'm "rich" in their eyes. How's that not a war on me?

This may be a bit wonk-like, but doesn't SOX create obligations that might require them to report other than internally?
And what rules of professional conduct say you can't investigate your boss? It certainly isn't great practice, but I wasn't aware of a specific ethical issue.

Who are we even talking about, anyway? Most of the people that can be accused of being LLs are hollywood types, and most of them are not near as rich as the real rich people.

Jesus Fucking Christ. What do you call it when there is a call for a tax cut for the wealthy combined with a cut in benefits (like more restrictions on the earned income tax credit) to the working poor?
How about a call for a flat tax, or a national sales tax, which would have the effect of shifting the tax burden further down the economic scale?
Or about when, as St. Ronnie of Reagan was wont to do, you give a speech in which you demonize fictional or exaggerated welfare queens? Is that class warfare?

I dreamed I saw Not Bob last night
Alive as you or me
Said I, "But Bob, you've left the boards!"
"I never left," said he
"I never left," said he
"I saw the socks attack you Bob,
All Penske's hellish host!"
Said Bob "what they could never kill
went on to write this post,
went on to write this post."
All across the interweb
Where no-good lawyers chat
When Sebby makes a lazy post
It's then Not Bob attacks
It's then Not Bob attacks.

I'm weak. Lent isn't even close to being over. Sigh. Might as well go for the bacon cheeseburger tomorrow.

Like "I'll have the bacon cheeseburger, but with the bacon on Hank's blackened tuna fillet."

No, it is. Really.
But when the feds use tax money to intervene in the collapse of an overly risky hedge fund, or sell federal land to oil and mining companies for nothing, that's just the natural order of things.
