For those outside the area, know that this is actually how rain is both collected and measured within the Los Angeles Basin. I, too, saw condensation on the ground this morning that instantly reminded me of rain from my childhood days.
Though no one actually saw rain fall, I believe that the official yearly rain totals have moved from 3 inches to 3. 12 inches. This additional increment will allow one last iced water to be served at the Palm before the end of all water supplies and the inevitable breakout of hostilities between Southern and Northern California over water rights.

We're at 38.87 inches so far for the year. "Average" is 26.46. Last night's rainfall was a little less than an inch, but I think we're already at nearly nine inches for the month of July. Usually it's not even two and a third.

That's so odd. I wonder why someone who is a secretary would pretend to be a paralegal.
When I worked at a firm, there was a night secretary (an excellent one) who was a lawyer by training (and had been on law review at her local law school). She quit the law racket to become a photographer, which wasn't exactly a financial boon for her, so to pay the bills she decided to do temporary work. She told the agency she could be a temporary lawyer, a temporary paralegal, or a temporary secretary; she was only interested in making money. She said she would take whatever job paid the most.
The agency told her that she would make far more money as a temporary secretary.

Indeed. An overweight, Lithium-addled Tyson in Dad jeans would probably bite your nose off. And then eat your children.
Speaking of none of that, does anyone else have a secret language that only them and their siblings understand? My sisters and I have a secret language, and we talk in it all the time, although it's somewhat difficult to express in email. We are dogged nerds though.

I have occasionally pretended to be my own secretary ("No, I'm sorry, she isn't in. May I take a message?"), but I have never pretended to be a paralegal.

There's nothing in my profile that gives any indication that I'm Canadian, but I seem to be attracting them.

Do you mention that you like hockey and Tim Horton's in your profile? That might be tipping them off.
