Okay. I have an actual fashion question, and it has nothing to do with socks.

Some useful guidelines:

Jacket must have a waist. You must have a waist.
Jacket (and vest, if any) should remain buttoned up.
If the suit has trousers, they should be loose and drape well.
If the suit has a skirt, it should not be very short - showing leg above the knee undercuts the masculine/feminine play of the look.
Don't wear fishnets; like a short skirt, it is just too much.
Shirt should be properly fitted - do not try this with a man's shirt, it will bag and you will look dumpy.
Be wary of earrings or bracelets. You can have fun with rings, though.
Red manicures work well with this look. Go for feminine details, not overt female sexuality (or overly casual anti-sexuality a la Annie Hall).
Shoes must be delicate - no laceups or oxfords or loafers.
Hair must be rigorously styled. A "natural look" is your enemy here, particularly if your hair falls much below your chin or can get out of control. But don't just scrape it back from your face - it must remain feminine.
Must wear makeup. Needn't be heavy or dark, but you must wear makeup to play up the feminine polish.
Any look with this many rules will certainly never be attempted by me. And maybe I'm more of a Teen Beat follower than the rest of you, but when I hear woman wearing tie, I think of this...

Weird that.

Edit - trying to find photo that works...

I think others will agree that I am not mainly, but completely correct when I tell you that a woman wearing an outfit that hugs her curves engaging in a bit of gender bending , whether by wearing a man's suit, adding a man's tie or what have you, is an incredibly sexy thing.

One of the hottest things I ever saw was a very curvy woman wearing an extremely well fitted tuxedo that left pretty much nothing to the imagination. Damn she looked good.

.... sorry had a little moment there.

Last weekend or so a friend of mine was wearing a fitted woman's suit and she had on a loosened tie. She looked amazingly hot.

That is so kind of you to say.

You looked mighty fine yourself.

But you wouldn't let me kiss you. What's up with that?

I bet the Odd Man wouldn't have minded.

See, you intimidate me. The, fashion conscious lesbian, you evaluate women's looks based on BOTH sexiness AND style. That's a much harder and more complicated standard to dress up to than if you were just aiming for one or the other.

I'm certain that the Odd Man would agree that I'm mainly correct when I say that I bet that's a much better show than dick tricks. NTTAWWT

Sampling

I met an extremely hot man today: beautiful smile, gorgeous body, great arms (I am a sucker for great arms). He looked like a few men I have dated in the past. He was just so fucking hot. Had I been single . . . damn.

Bringing a conversation from IM to the FB:

Though I was taken aback by his attractiveness, the fact that I had an active social life and dated similarly hot men in the past makes me less tempted. It's like been there, done that.

I look at friends who settle down too early and then have emotional or physical affairs. I often wonder if the issue is that they didn't sample enough before settling down.

So, how important is sampling?

Important enough to make it one's life work, I'd say.

Great arms? How could you tell? Was it Nick Lachey*?

Crucial. I didn't sample enough pre-marriage (married at 24! to first post-college bf! what was I thinking?). I am divorced. This is not unusual. I did sample a fair amount post-divorce. And now I know what is (and is not) out there...
