Oh, I am quite prole. No blue blood in my line. Mutt all the way. Also, not from the south. Think Scandinavia. Not a prep school, but private parochial. At any rate, the point of my post was that I do not think private school people are more attractive. They just generally have more money.

3. Elegant and graceful my ass. Her parents taught he what forks to use and how to dress the dress and walk the walk. Is she an example of classic style? Sure... but we're talkin looks here.

4. "Cokewkore" is not a literal term. It means she's the kind of chick who'd follow the guy with the baggie around the party like a rabid dog chasing a meatwagon.

5. I dig a chick who carries herself well and has manners, but we're not talking about chicks we're looking to take to a dinner dance here, we're talking about hotties.

S(I don't get the red velvet comment... please explain)D
I cant tell if this is anti elistist SD, reformed elitist SD or pro elisitst SD.

Carolyn Bessette was a solid member of the middle class who did not go to boarding school. Much like you Sebby except for your country club fork thing and your private school background.. She was planning on being a schoolteacher when CK plucked her from his Boston store. I suggest that you get your facts straight before assuming she was this wealthy rich kid turned super socialite, bc that is notat all accurate.

And yes, we were tlaking hotties. I think she is hot. It is my opinion and you cant talk me out of it. Sorry. Diffrent strokes, right fringey

As for common, I think you are using it inveresly. Common is a term that I suppose members of the elite upper class would use to describe the lower and lower middle classes. PRobably derived from the English aristocracy referring to commoners. I am sure AG or BRC can confirm this and then add about five paragraphs to the thought. The fact that you are using common to denote the typical prep school rich girl is sort of, well, hypocrtical given your mocking the rich for teaching kids how to use the forks.

As I said earlier, I think that elegance and grace are linked to beauty. You cannot tell me otherwise bc beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

This all said, when I am tlaking about a woman being beautiful (I think I was originally dogged for being jealous for saying someone had a nose job and fake tits which are for sale and I could proudly own them if I so desired) I am not talking someone I want to fuck. I am talkingmore like from an appreciation standpoint. YOu just want to stare at them. And that is how Carolyn , and Christy and Angelina and Bo Derek are to me. Whether you want to fuck them really doesnt change my assessment.

Edited to add that I guess if I take hot literally- which means more sexy than beautiful as the judges of Are You Hot would tell me, then I dont think Carolyn was hot. BUt there are few few women I would want to have sex with , and strangely, they arent necessarily beautiful.

Who doesn't like drag queens? My personal favorite was a full-figured non-traditional beauty named Patty Melt. Her best number was one where she came out dressed in a flannel grandma nightgown, hair in curlers, with a mattress strapped to her back, lip synching "You Can Eat Crackers in My Bed Anytime." She carried a can of aerosol cheese that she squirted into the eagerly opened mouths of her well-tanned and impeccably dressed adoring fans. If that's not Art, I'm not sure what is.

I was just fucking around, and kinda making the point that they don't necessarily even have much more money.

You don't like them with the improvement of Gellin' like a Felon to Gellin' like Magellan? Which makes even less sense?

And where does one see the Basedow commercials, which I seem to have avoided so far. Please help me continue to avoid them.

How dare you?
We will gladly hand over the world in exchange for not having to view this commercial during every tv timeout (which is, what, 37 times per game?). Scantily clad sexy twins are hot, but more appropriate for a poster on the dormroom wall. I enjoyed the twins during the first week of football last season. Now, they either need to start some sweaty animal riding or move on to something new, like sexy amputees or something. And there was never any excuse or justification for the "music" accompanying the ads.

Paigs,

You can duck and weave like Muhammed Ali when you want to. That last post was crafted tightly enough that I have to say I agree with it. We've been on the same page all along - "hot" is different than classically beautiful.

As to Bessette's background, I recall she was not a commoner, but actually came from an old family with a rather solid history in the area. And as to public schooling, where'd she go? Greenwich PS 101? I don't honestly know, so you can fill that one in for me. Bottom line... the Kennedy's don't marry proles, so whether she's monied or traces her lineage back the Mayflower, she's well bred. Failing that, she gives the appearance of impeccable breeding.

I'm neither elitist nor reformed. I'm just calling Bessette what most folks see her as - a symbol of what's perceived be good breeding. I can't put my finger on what exactly the defvining quality is that makes her appears so, but she's got it. And there's a certain person who thinks that's beautiful. Hell, I think its refreshing, since it usually means the person has manners. However, I don't think its "hot".

So we're in agreement,
SD

Although SNL's parody of the Sunday National Enquirer was pretty spot on funny.

*sigh*. Why assume there is no correlation? Beautiful women marry rich men bc they can. Ergo (I have never said taht before, did I use it properly), the spawn of rich men often have beautiful mothers which increases the likelihood they might be beautiful

The only way this is wrong is if beautiful women marry rich and non rich in equal proportions or if beauty in a parent could not translate into the child.

And Catholic school does not count as prep school or as private school in the way SD meant it in terms of his "common private school" chicks.

When we talked about Born Rich last week, did anybody remark on the fact that these kids were not very good looking? Only Cody Franchetti (the kid who berated his tailor over the buttonhole) could be described as very good looking. Ivanka was striking, but not fabulous looking -- just very, very polished.

I think he meant that the elite upper class are more common (a/k/a boring, closed-minded, afraid of change) than the traditional commoners.

I agree. The upper crust bores me to death. It's like being at that wedding where the bride and groom entertain EVERYONE the entire evening w/out having an ounce of fun. Get out there and celebrate - it's YOUR wedding...
