You should go out on Saturday and stay home the next day for Sucker Free Sunday. Its got a good beat, you can dance to it, I give it a 9.

Penske, it's over

that's right, the men wearing skirts trend has hit the cnn web page. just in case the NYT piece over the weekend was not evidence enough that you should pack your skirts away...

Let's put this way, either which way, I'm undeniably at the forefront of this trend.

Plus I owe it to Slave, Wonk, my shoe-shopping date, my shoe and boot advice guru, TM et al. to wear it during my upcoming travels.

I sense your sadness and dismay that I won't be traveling to Texas for lunch in my skirt. Hopefully my heart will do instead.

PA

ps: I wonder what the pattern on that Gaultier skirt is like. I'd make heads turn in that.

People who waste more time on reality tv than I do

realityblurred reports:

"A group of die-hard-from-day-one fans of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" want Bravo "to halt ALL re-runs of" episode 111, which features Alan Corey. Their problem: While Bravo IDs him as a "real estate speculator" (which he apparently is, according to a Sunday profile in the New York Post; he owns and rents out an apartment), he's also a comedian with his own web site who's they've spotted on both NBC's The Restaurant and NBC's Meet My Folks. The petitioners tell Bravo, "your website clearly states that no actors should apply as straight guys for the show" and say "this episode is bad for your show, bad for the Fab 5 to be hoodwinked by a media whore who misrepresented who he was and bad for the network when he's on twice in two shows pretending to be two different things."

A reality show participant that is a media whore who wants to be an actor?!?

Weird that.

No fucking way. I wonder if he knocked over the martini pitcher and ate off his shoes on purpose. If so, he's a genius. Perspiring like a pig and then wiping his sweat on the crudités he served his GF's parents was an inspired improvisation.

Yeah, and why the fuck does McDonalds feel they need Street Cred? I mean, aren't their restaurants doing well enough in da hood as is? Or are they worried about competition from Jack in the Box and Popeyes?

McDonalds: Inferior good? Giffen good? Discuss.

And finally, six more pages of bitching about class/Carolyn Bessette to catch up? Why should I bother?

Because it makes for very fast skimming? At least that was my experience.

(another post about Carolyn, skip it. another post about private school, skip it. and repeat.)

Someone in marketing figured out that Col. Sanders had successfully transmogrified into an animated jive-ass wigger, and figured Ronald had better git in while the gittin's good.

I saw an old school Road Rules last night from the South America season (somewhere around 4, I would guess). It was the one where Gladys and some guy named Abe got into a fist fight. I think Gladys ends up getting thrown out for it, but I'll have to wait and see if they air the next episode tonight. Some local channel has picked up rights to the old seasons... The blond, scruffy dude from that season is now a bouncer at a Dallas bar/club. I would criticize him on his failure to use his 15 mins more wisely, but back then it was only good for 5 mins of fame to be on a reality show.
Wait no longer, my lovely Dallasian Princess. Gladys did get tossed for smacking the unctuous Abe himself. There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth as Abe meted out justice. (Much like the case of the young lady from Real World LV whose name escapes me, the struck party apparently has the right to decide if the striking party stays or goes. Steve was more forgiving than Abe). Speaking of Road Rules Latin America, I hearted Holly in law school, but I heart her no longer.

I care more about whether Mandy Moore and Andy Roddick can find lasting happiness than about which person these human sad sacks ultimately pick on these shows, and that is saying very little.
Lucky for you, there's a new reality show in development called "The Tour," which will follow Mr. Roddick and some lesser lights of the WTA (Brian Vahaly, and the Bryan twins) in 13 sure-to-be compelling episodes, according to today's Daily Variety. The producer (producer of QEFTSG) is pitching the shows this week to networks.

Okay, now you're talking my language. All those discussions on shoes, ancient religions, that thingie called "law", reality tv shows, bikini v. brazilian, the relative hotness of another dead kennedy, I have been unable to really comprehend. But fast food? There I have some experience. I have to say that I had some Popeyes chicken the other week (the spicy fried chicken), which was just awesome, crispy, juicy, a little bit of spice, relatively cheap. Not as cheap as the $4.99 ten piece drums and thighs from Church's chicken, but not bad, and much tastier.

So, for those FB'ers who dain to eat with the masses:

Which fast food outlets do you have a soft spot for?

me: In and out burgers (though limited to west coast)
Round Table pizza, Popeye's chicken, and McDonald's fries.

Note: I know I'm killing myself, let me enjoy it.

Thank you, str8. Speaking of Holly, she seemed to have some inexplicable thing for this Abe chap last night (despite the fact that the other two girls hated him). But that was dashed when he dry humped little Susie from the prior RR season. Sigh. I wonder if Abe and Susie are still together. That seemed like the real thing...

And speaking of the other girls, I had absolutely no recollection of the other girl on the cast of RR Latin America. She was a brunette with short hair, kinda cute. I'm not sure they ever even mentioned her name last night. Is weird because I usually at least recognize old cast members. She must have made no impression on me at all.

Now I'm feeling I should rush home to try to catch the show tonight. Maybe the 24 hour reality channel will run old RW and RR marathons...

Still a great way to spend a Saturday.
