Nope. I had an opportunity to get tickets, but I had a much better deal out of town this weekend. It was much sunnier.

Picture him much skinnier, with big jug ears, and you've got Matress Mac to a T.

Um, because messed-up quote codes (or other codes) prevent me from really appreciating the wit and insight that resides in each and every FB post?

Saves you money!

Incredibly, Houston does not get Conan immediately following the Tonight Show. The local NBC affiliate offers alternate programing and Conan comes on at 1:30. For a time, Conan ran a contest for the worst local commercial shown during the Houston broadcast. Mattress Mack was the "Look ma, no hands!" guy demonstrating the recliners that gently raise old people to a standing position. Mattress Mack campaigned hard, even driving an RV to the studio and camping outside for a week. His efforts were in vain - the chainsaw guy ("we're slashing prices in half") won the contest. Conan still comes on at 1:30, too, so in a way, we all lost.

The "Kiss Ass Blaster." I believe it was a triple twisting triple, no? And Squirrel....with the cream you know like all over his face, and that chick's chest (they didn't show anything)....and then apparently in her mouth but they didn't show it (thank god, I can't stand sex scenes).

For skiing movies I would call "The Maltese Flamingo" the best.

Fair enough. I just didn't remember using quotes.

And I only offer wit. No insight.

who are Jack and Linda Mc something who spent 27 mil of their own money to get this tourney there?
Jim McIngvale. AKA Mattress Mac. He opened one of those cheap furniture emporiums and made millions through those really bad late night tv commercials. He's sort of a local icon around here.

edited to add: scroll, then post.

I've never seen that movie but there's no way it can be better than Better Off Dead.

No. He did it on his own. Small obnoxious place turned into the largest single retail spot in the world. The furniture store makes about $150MM a year. It'd be sort of a nice story if he weren't so obnoxious. A while ago his horrible commercials won in one of Conan O'Brien's contests for worst commercials shown during his timeslot. He bought a lot of ad space on the football stadium too.

edited to add: clearly I need help with the automatic reply thing

Sorry White Stripes & Outkast.

So here's your link to the "Guys" page: http://www.nbc.com/nbc/Average_Joe/the_guys.shtml

John is the one who got the solo date, and then spazzed out after getting the peck from Malena. Dennis L. is the uber-dorky virgin who everybody loved, just not in, you know, that way. I'd have to say that it's worth staying up for, but you know, my day was made by news of a new Celebrity Mole taking the "Karen Sisco" spot on ABC's Wednesday lineup starting in January, so YMMV.

Not better necessarily, just different. It is documentary-like. It is just great ski footage.

"The film follows the adventures of twelve `ski bums`, including the Canadian World Cup Freestyle Aces Lloyd Langlois and Lee Lee Morrison as they take to the ski terrains of Europe and North America. Accompanied by a rock soundtrack."

Nevermind the famous "that is the worst answer ever" speech towards the end - the image of Steve Buscemi putting on lipstick after amending his "People to Kill" list was burned into my mind as by fire. (The Cajun grounds keeper pulling his nipple rings in Waterboy was excellent, but doesn't reach the same sublimely surreal "WTF?" heights.)

Big points for the Bob Barker fight scene in Happy Gilmore, though. I watch Sandler films just because most of them have one brilliant moment or two like that in them. Caddyshack has to get my vote as best golf movie, though.
BRC, that is the worst post ever. I am dumber for having read it, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Yeah. But rent Scaramouche again, you'll feel better.
