Patagonia is way overpriced given it's quality. Although their polypro/neopro/whatever material their long underwear is is actually pretty swell.

 This city needs an REI.
 | I bought a North Face jacket 10 years ago and I still wear the fucker. There's no need to get a new North Face every year. Mine is still as strong as it was the day I bought it, and I've even gone over a barbed wire fance wearing it.

Patagonia is shit, except for the pullover Ts, which are inexpensive and last forever.

Disease targets the wrong sectors of society. Its too bad we don't have a modern day Moses to bring down a plague to wipe out the spawn of the soccer mom sector.

And I know it is not PC to say so here, but DMB is not bad. Some of his musicians are really talented and his songs range from really cool (Stay Tonight [this may not be the actual title]) to crap (Eat Too Much), just like a ton of other overhyped bands. So what? If it makes me FB uncool to admit liking some of his stuff, well fuck off.

Of course, not as much as Travis. But I do not blame the man for being non-British.
 | I think the fact that Trey has been touring with Dave says something about Dave's musical talent. At least I hope it does. I've had musician friends tell me Trey is one of the best guitarists they've ever heard. Both technically and creatively.

Probably won't need a headlamp to do it, either. |

 | Phish is kind of like Rush. You know they can play, but they can't write or sing for shit.

Musicians also like Primus, and while Les Claypool may be talented, what he creates is unlistenable to the layman.

Whoa, in a keanu-like way -- that rhymes!

*Yes, sebby and I have children together, and I am proud to finally say it aloud. Our version of The Love That Dares Not Speak Its Name has resulted in two cute little tykes named Muffy and Kip. |

 | My folks are bad soccer parents. Dad was never around and mom had her own career and didn't like to play tea party with the local prozac moms in the Junior League or whatever other societies for idle imbeciles the local folks had constructed. We also lived away from the trendy devleopments because the folks hated the idea of having neighbors. Mom tried to doing the soccer mom bit for a while but was so unhappy with it that the familt urged her back into the workforce.

My folks often apologize for not being around as much as they'd have like to have been. They don't know how much I appreciate their independence and lack of meddling. These parents I see obsessing over their kids are (a) losers, and (B) creating a generation of narrow-minded soft-headed people who aspire to nothing more than the "brass ring" of suburban drug-controlled desperation which has been drilled into their demented little minds.

I think you'd actually like me Bilmore. We already have the tarpon fishing in common. Scary.

 | Prana is actually tough as hell, though it looks and fits too nice to be. If I'm scrambling down some icy rocks, their (non-yogawear) pants are great.

Boots--my LLBean shearlings are waterproof unlike crappy trendy Uggs. They may not be of-the-moment, but who cares when you're covered in slush?

(But, more to my point, I'm betting that, parental attention or not, you rode in nice vehicles, and wore new, trendy jackets yearly. Back then, at least.) |

I call anybody who says "I liked that band before anybody heard of them" Donny Carmody, after a toolish guy from my high school who uttered that very phrase about Duran fucking Duran. |
