On a similar note, but substituting "tool of a brutal regime" for "master of peaceful resistance"- house of Sand and Fog was very good.

You do realize, of course, that the problem with this statement was not its ridiculousness. It was that, from a historical perspective, it's tantamount to saying the world would have been better off it Hitler had won WWII: it can't be disproved, but it sure as shit shows you don't have a fucking clue about how it sounds to the people whose lives would certainly have been worse.

To call it "ridiculous" minimizes it too much.
